[Third POV]
While Klee's unwavering focus remained fixated on the transformed figure of Ifrit, Rimuru couldn't help but feel a surge of worry coursing through him, fueled by the genuine concern for the safety of his people.
The safety of the goblin villagers weighed heavily on his mind, and in order to protect them, he swiftly turned to his loyal goblin subordinate, speaking to him with an urgency that reflected his deep sense of purpose. "Rigurd, I need you to immediately ensure the safety of everyone in the village. Get them away from here!"
"But, my lord, what about you?" the goblin inquired, his voice trembling with genuine concern. He couldn't bear the thought of leaving his Lord unattended, even in the face of danger.
"Don't worry about me. I have the capability to handle myself," Rimuru reassured him, his words carefully chosen to instill trust and confidence in the goblin.
Rigurd nodded solemnly, fully comprehending the gravity of the situation, and wasted no time in rushing in the opposite direction of the battlefield, determined to carry out his Lord's command and ensure the safety of the villagers.
With the evacuation efforts set in motion, Rimuru redirected his attention to the three adventurers standing before him, their faces etched with visible anxiety, their belief in the proximity of their own demise evident in their eyes.
Klee, on the other hand, resolutely refused to succumb to fear. The intensity of her anger only served to fuel her determination to save Shizu, her beloved friend who had fallen victim to the monstrous transformation of Ifrit.
Suddenly, a thunderous roar erupted from Ifrit, shaking the very foundation of the battlefield as a destructive shockwave rippled through the air.
Reacting swiftly to protect Klee and the others, Kaval, the skilled tank among the adventurers, conjured a barrier, shielding them from the catastrophic force that threatened to consume them.
As the tremors continued to reverberate, the ground beneath their feet erupted in a spectacle of fiery chaos, giving birth to three massive pillars of flame that soared towards the sky, casting a menacing glow upon the surroundings.
From within those burning pillars, three winged minions emerged, their presence oozing with ominous malevolence as they set ablaze everything in their path, engulfing the once peaceful village in a raging inferno.
The sight of the newly constructed houses, reduced to mere ashes, only served to further ignite Rimuru's frustration. "Dammit!" he muttered under his breath, his voice laced with annoyance, his heart heavy with the ruthless destruction inflicted by the minions. "We invested so much effort into building all that!"
After venting his displeasure, Rimuru turned his gaze towards Klee and her companions, their appearance bearing the marks of the shockwave's impact. Genuine concern washed over him, propelling him to take immediate action. "You all must leave this place right now!" he demanded, his voice tinged with a mix of urgency and genuine care for their well-being.
"No way!" Klee exclaimed, her childlike determination shining through as she refused to back down from the challenge of facing the demonic spirit and rescuing her beloved big sister figure, Shizu.
Her voice resonated with unwavering resolve, carrying a touch of innocence as she turned to her companions, seeking their support and uplifting their spirits. "Hey, Kaval! Gido! Eren! Let's show this meanie how strong we are and teach him a lesson he won't forget!"
Eren, her eyes brimming with tears that mirrored her unwavering determination, clutched her staff tightly, her conviction unwavering as she fervently nodded in agreement. "You're absolutely right, Klee. We cannot abandon Shizu to such a terrible fate. It's time for us to fight back!" she exclaimed, and her voice filled with a newfound determination.
Kaval and Gido exchanged resolute glances, their expressions mirroring a mix of concern and unwavering determination. Stepping forward, Kaval unsheathed his sword, his voice resounding with a firm resolve that echoed through the air. "You can count on us, Klee. We won't allow that despicable fiend to harm anyone else."
"Yeah, we'll teach that fiery monster a lesson!" Gido chimed in, his twin daggers glinting in the light as he wielded them with a determined ease.
Moved by the resolute responses of her friends, Klee nodded firmly, her gaze then shifting towards the azure blue slime, Rimuru, who held the key to their success in defeating Ifrit.
Summoning all her bravery, Klee took a big gulp of air and spoke with a mix of desperation and hope. "Mr. Slime, p-please help us save Big Sis!" Her voice quivered slightly, revealing her childlike innocence and vulnerability, but her determination shone through as she refused to give up on her beloved friend.
Rimuru acknowledged Klee's request with a nod, his voice carrying an unwavering determination that resonated with the weight of their shared purpose. "Indeed, Ifrit may pose a formidable challenge, but together, we might just stand a chance. Let's rescue Shizu and put an end to this menacing threat once and for all."
Their determination solidified into an unbreakable resolve, and the group formed a united front, ready to confront the malevolent spirit head-on, their combined strength and unwavering spirit serving as their beacon of hope in the face of overwhelming darkness.
------------------------------------------------
As Klee and her comrades readied themselves for the impending battle, Ifrit wasted no time in unleashing his winged minions to launch a relentless assault. The minions screeched menacingly as they swiftly closed in on their targets, their presence instilling a sense of urgency and impending danger within the group.
With a keen eye, Rimuru sprang into action, calling upon his renowned technique to summon a barrage of Water Blades aimed at the oncoming minions. However, much to his disappointment, the water-based attacks dissipated instantly upon contact, proving to be ineffective against the agile adversaries.
Feeling perplexed and uncertain of his next move, Rimuru turned to his unique skill, Great Sage, seeking guidance. Inquiring with a hint of frustration, he asked, "Great Sage, my attacks aren't working. What strategy should I employ to overcome this challenge?"
The skill's response came swiftly, advising, "I recommend employing more powerful and formidable offensive maneuvers to effectively neutralize your adversaries."
Taking the suggestion into consideration, Rimuru pondered for a moment before delving deeper, "Great Sage, what level of power should I infuse into my water attacks to effectively neutralize these minions?"
"To eliminate the minions, you must exert a tremendous amount of force that surpasses their resistance," came the skill's answer.
Encouraged by the response, Rimuru exclaimed, "Excellent! Let's increase the power and..."
"However, be cautious, as excessively increasing the power may lead to unintended consequences and collateral damage," the skill cautioned, frustrating Rimuru with the untimely revelation.
*KABOOM* *KABOOM*
As the slime fumed internally, explosions rang out in the surroundings, catching his attention. He turned to witness Klee hurling incendiary bombs at the winged minions, intrigued by her approach. Rimuru once again turned to Great Sage, seeking validation, and asked, "That seems to be quite effective, doesn't it?"
"Nay, the explosives thrown by the individual known as Klee have proven ineffective against the winged minions," came the skill's response, causing confusion for Rimuru and frustration for Klee.
"Huh? Why is that?" Rimuru questioned, seeking further clarification on the ineffectiveness of Klee's explosive attack.
"The winged minions have developed a resistance to fire-based explosions, rendering Klee's explosives ineffective," explained the skill.
Perplexed by the assessment, the slime glanced back and noticed Klee's explosives failing to faze the minions, leaving the elf girl frustrated and at a loss for effective means of attack.
"ICICLE LANCE!!"
Just then, Eren's voice rang out, catching Rimuru's attention. He turned to see the blond mage propelling massive shards of ice towards the winged minions. Unlike Klee's explosives, the ice shards seemed to find their mark and prove effective at first glance. Witnessing this, Rimuru questioned Great Sage, hoping for positive news, "How about that, Great Sage? Does that prove effective against the minions?"
"Affirmative, the ice-based magical attacks have been proven effective against the winged minions due to their vulnerability to freezing temperatures," the skill confirmed.
Upon hearing the positive assessment, Rimuru resolved to adopt that type of attack. He faced Eren and shouted, "Hey Eren, can you direct your ice attack towards me?"
Baffled by the slime's request, Eren asked in confusion, "Why would I do that?"
"Just do it! I have a plan!" Rimuru shouted back, trying to reassure her with his strategy.
Reluctantly, Eren acquiesced, saying, "Alright then, but don't hold me responsible if anything goes wrong." The blond mage aimed her staff at the slime and unleashed her icy assault.
"ICICLE LANCE!"
As the spell was cast, a colossal ice shard hurtled towards Rimuru, and with the swiftness of thought, he employed his Predator skill to consume and mimic the attack.
Eren stood astounded by the turn of events, while Klee, still skeptical of Rimuru's intentions, ceased her assault and watched his actions attentively.
*KABOOM*
To everyone's surprise, Rimuru launched an ice bomb at the winged minions, causing one of them to freeze instantly upon impact. Klee was shocked by what she witnessed and hurriedly ran towards the slime, filled with curiosity. She asked, "How did you do that, mister Slime?"
"Well, I have a skill that allows me to copy anything I consume. I fused the bomb you threw yesterday with the icicle lance to create an ice bomb," Rimuru explained, exciting Klee with the possibilities.
"Is it possible for me to do that too, mister Slime?" Klee inquired eagerly, hoping to learn the same attack.
"What do you think, Great Sage? Can she do that?" Rimuru asked, seeking confirmation from his skill.
"Affirmative, her Bomb Creation skill is not limited to fire-based explosives. She is capable of constructing any type of bomb she can imagine," Great Sage assured.
Upon hearing the skill's confirmation, the slime couldn't help but feel a tinge of concern. The thought of Klee creating a potentially catastrophic bomb crossed his mind, but he quickly dismissed it, answering the elf girl's question.
"Of course, you can. Just imagine the ice bomb in your mind and utilize your Bomb Creation skill," Rimuru explained, leaving Klee curious about how he knew about her skill. Nevertheless, she shrugged it off and nodded understandingly.
Filled with excitement, Klee followed his instructions and put her newfound knowledge to the test. Imagining the ice bomb Rimuru had used, she activated her Bomb Creation skill. In an instant, a blue-coated bomb materialized in her hand, filling her with joy.
"I did it, mister Slime!" Klee exclaimed, eagerly showing the ice bomb to Rimuru. The slime nodded approvingly at the elf girl's success and decided to summon his trusted companion, who had been lurking in his shadow.
"Ranga, come out and join us!" the slime shouted, startling Klee. Suddenly, a magnificent wolf with blue fur and a horn on its head emerged from the shadow, capturing Klee's surprise and excitement.
"What is your command, my lord?" the wolf asked, awaiting his master's instruction.
Hearing the wolf's attentive question, Rimuru answered, "Bring me and Klee closer to the enemies. We have a plan of attack."
"As you wish, my lord," the wolf complied and crouched down, allowing the slime to climb onto his back. Then he turned to Klee and said, "Hop on, Klee."
Klee willingly concurred and quickly climbed onto the wolf's back, seating herself behind the slime. With determination and purpose, the wolf charged towards the danger, carrying the duo swiftly and efficiently toward their intended targets.
-------------------------------------------------
Ranga dashed forward with Klee and Rimuru securely perched on his back, swiftly closing the distance between them and the remaining winged minions. The wind rushed past them, tousling their hair and causing their clothes to flutter as they rapidly approached their targets.
"Klee, prepare to unleash the ice bomb!" Rimuru commanded, his voice brimming with anticipation and readiness for the pivotal moment ahead.
Klee tightened her grip on the ice bomb, clutching it tightly with her small hands as she fixed her determined gaze on the approaching winged minions. Drawing nearer, she took a deep breath, summoning her courage, and then hurled the bomb with all her might.
The ice bomb struck its mark, shattering upon impact and encasing the first winged minion in a frigid prison. The freezing cold consumed it, rendering the creature motionless as it descended to the ground, defeated.
However, the second winged minion, unwavering in its resolve to fulfill its destructive purpose, flew straight toward Kaval, Gido, and Eren, preparing to self-destruct in their midst.
"No way!" Klee exclaimed with wide-eyed alarm, her childlike voice trembling. She couldn't believe the danger that was closing in on her friends. But despite her fear, her determination burned bright.
Kaval swiftly attempted to conjure a protective barrier, desperately trying to shield them from the impending explosion. But his efforts faltered, and the blast erupted around them, engulfing Gido, Eren, and Kaval, leaving them unconscious on the ground.
Shock and concern washed over Rimuru and Klee as they hastily rushed to the side of their fallen comrades, their hearts heavy with worry.
"Are they... um, are they okay?" Klee's voice trembled with a mix of worry and a hint of fear.
Rimuru quickly assessed their condition, a mix of relief and anxiety coursing through him. "They're unconscious, but they're still alive. We must ensure their safety, tend to their injuries, and find them a secure location."
Turning to Ranga, Rimuru issued an urgent command, his voice filled with a sense of haste and care. "Ranga, please carry Kaval, Gido, and Eren to a safe place. Protect them until they regain consciousness."
"As you command, my lord," Ranga dutifully replied, his massive form gently scooping up the unconscious adventurers and carrying them away from the tumultuous battlefield, driven by his protective instincts.
With the injured party attended to, Rimuru turned to Klee, concern evident in his eyes. "Klee, continuing the fight is far too perilous. You must flee and find a place of safety."
But Klee's eyes sparkled with unwavering determination, her small hands balled up into tight fists. "No way! I won't give up! I'm going to make that bad guy pay for hurting our friends and stop him for good!"
Rimuru sighed, recognizing her resolute spirit and knowing it would be futile to dissuade her easily. "Very well, but promise me that if the situation becomes too hazardous, you will retreat and prioritize your own safety."
Klee's eyes sparkled with a childlike determination as she nodded eagerly. "I promise, Mister Slime! We're going to face Ifrit together and make sure our friends' sacrifices weren't for nothing!"
With their shared resolve solidified, Rimuru and Klee advanced toward Ifrit, each step brimming with purpose and their hearts steeled for the impending battle.
Sensing their unyielding determination, Ifrit employed a skill to create clones of himself, encircling Rimuru and Klee in an attempt to disorient and overwhelm them.
"Stay focused, Klee! We cannot allow him to confuse us!" Rimuru called out, his voice filled with determination and encouragement.
Reacting swiftly, he unleashed his formidable skill, [Icicle Scattershot], unleashing a barrage of icy projectiles aimed directly at the clones. The frozen shards found their mark, shattering the illusions and exposing the true Ifrit amidst the chaos.
However, Ifrit was far from vanquished. Summoning a magic circle crackling with fiery energy, he prepared to unleash a pillar of scorching flames.
"Watch out, Klee!" Rimuru shouted, his voice carrying a mix of urgency and protective instinct. Acting swiftly, he pushed Klee out of harm's way just as the pillar of flame erupted, narrowly evading its devastating reach.
Klee landed on the ground, her heart racing, a mixture of shock and relief coursing through her. For a brief moment, she believed her slime friend had sacrificed himself to save her.
Tears welled up in her eyes as anger flared within her, fueled by the thought of losing someone she cared about.
"You... you monster!" Klee cried out, her voice trembling with a potent blend of fury and defiance.
Her fury transformed into unwavering determination as she tapped into her unique skill, [Bomb Creation], summoning every ounce of her power to create a massive ice bomb, larger and more potent than anything she had ever made before. She clutched it tightly in her hands, channeling all her rage and resolve into this final, desperate attack.
With a mighty throw, Klee launched the colossal ice bomb toward Ifrit, intending to exact her revenge and eliminate the menacing foe once and for all.
However, displaying his own immense power, Ifrit deflected the ice bomb with a swift swipe of his hand, altering its trajectory and sending it hurtling back toward Klee.
Before the explosion could engulf her, Klee felt an invisible force pulling her, guiding her away from the icy blast. She landed at a safe distance, her wide-eyed astonishment gradually transforming into a mix of relief and gratitude.
Standing before her, her slime friend remained unharmed, wearing a reassuring aura that dispelled her fears. "I'm not dead, Klee. I'm here to protect you and ensure your safety."
A profound sense of relief washed over Klee as she realized Rimuru had shielded her from harm. Gratitude and admiration filled her young heart as she looked up at the azure slime who had become her steadfast companion.
Meanwhile, the icy explosion had taken its toll on Ifrit. Weakened and vulnerable, he struggled to regain his footing, his fiery aura dimming. Seizing the opportunity, Rimuru swiftly employed his fire-proof steel strings, deftly binding and restraining Ifrit, effectively immobilizing the malevolent spirit.
Ifrit snarled and attempted to break free, unleashing a torrent of searing flames in a desperate bid to escape. But the slime's fire resistance shielded him from the scorching heat, undeterred and resolute in his quest to vanquish this formidable foe.
With a triumphant smile, he activated his ultimate skill, [Predator], engulfing Ifrit in a brilliant display of power. The smoke cleared, leaving no trace of Ifrit, and revealing Shizu lying unconscious on the battlefield, finally liberated from the demonic influence.
Kneeling beside Shizu, Rimuru gently checked her pulse, a mixture of relief and concern coursing through him. "She's alive, but she's unconscious. We must find a safe place for her and tend to the needs of our fallen comrades."
Klee's face lit up with a mixture of gratitude and unwavering determination. Her voice carried a childlike innocence, yet a resolute resolve shone through her words. "Thank you, mister slime! Let's make sure everyone is safe and find a really, really safe place for Big Sis!"
Together, Rimuru and Klee diligently attended to their injured friends, ensuring their protection and providing the necessary care.
Their bond grew stronger through the trials they faced, their unwavering determination to safeguard their allies burning brighter than ever, fueled by their shared experiences and the desire to protect those they held dear.
