1.33 Childish

Cole pulled Persie onto the couch, surprised when Persie abruptly stopped and took a seat on the same couch as before.

Despite knowing it was childish, Persie didn't want to sit where he and Evander had been. Cole's presence seemed to bring out a lot of petty and childish emotions in him, which was annoying.

Cole smiled and sat down beside him, but his smile faded as he asked, "Why were you crying?"

Persie looked at him, taken aback. He glanced at himself in the elevator mirror and felt he didn't look like he had been crying.

Persie explained the conversation he had with his "parents," and Cole asked, "Do you believe them?"

Sighing, Persie answered, "A part of me doesn't because of everything they put me through, but the other part hopes."

Cole's brows furrowed imperceptibly. Persie shouldn't trust them; they would only hurt him again. He was also puzzled as to why he let Evander take his place while he was away.
