The Secret Dropped

Wolf Islands

Devin made it to back to the home where he was supposed to meet with Judge Love. Everyone was with him this time. Instead?

He saw Zoan. Destiny's brother was waiting right outside of the yard of the house instead. Where had the judge gone? Was he using Zoan so he didn't risk getting killed?

Devin hoped Zoan didn't blame them. It wasn't their fault at all. "We are here."

Zoan nodded. He was hard to read. "Devin Oliver Olivacea. Hello."

Hello? Devin and the rest of them just stranded his sister to who knew what fate for the last four years. "Hello."

"Juniper isn't here, he wanted us to meet instead," Zoan admitted. "I think it's fair."

Okay, it looked like the judge actually gave him his real name. "What's been happening to your sister?"

Zoan didn't look like he wanted to say much. "Probably not what you think."

"Is that good then, or is that bad?" Mattie interrupted. "I know your feeling some kind of emotion right now, you are her brother, but we really need to know what's going on. She hasn't been like a steak to a bunch of guys?"

"Steak? Oh. No, nobody could bother her physically. She has no bruises or anything from them," Zoan said confidently.

Okay, but Zoan still looked so worried.

"Emotionally? My sister used to be different. She acts . . ." he paused. "When you've been pulled into her situation for four years it's not easy. It wasn't easy for you though I imagine," Zoan said to him.

Oddly? Why would Zoan say that? "Why wouldn't it be easy for me? You were her brother."

"Yeah, but I'm not the other personal involved?" Zoan paused. "Wait. He never told you?"

"Told me what?" Devin asked.

"Oh. That's right, you are not from around here at all," he muttered. "Shit. Sorry. So they didn't even?"

Devin really didn't like the way Zoan was acting so sorry. There was no reason for that, he should have been mad, not sorry. It made him feel twice as anxious as he'd already been.

"No wonder I was picked to meet you. Well? Come on. It's time to learn the truth," Zoan said as he took them all inside the house.

POV Destiny

I just need to add some of this and that. The guys all enjoyed it, it was the easiest ingredient of them all. After that, then I would separate out the first thirty to finish. Breakfast was closer.

"Hey, Sweetie?" One of her dears said to her from the other door. "I'm not feeling breakfast today? Why don't you skip mine and make something simpler for me."

Ah, no problem. "Stomach troubles, head troubles, body aches, or no appetite, Dear?" I asked my dear.

"Stomach. Just some rice," he insisted to me.

"Anything else, Dear?"

"No, Sweetie. That's it." He backed out of the room.

Okay, one order changed, but that happened. It wasn't a big deal at all. I could handle it. I went ahead and started dividing out thirty pieces of bacon, keeping in the back of my mind that 31 would not be used. I started to fry up the bacon and removed them as they were done. I started on the next batch of bacon when I heard the door.

I pulled them off the hot stove for now to answer the door. I smiled. "Hello, Zoan, good to see you. I am just in the middle of breakfast and then I need to start cleaning." He was always welcome to talk with her while she cooked and cleaned.

"I brought Devin," Zoan said to me. He moved and I saw the man that had me and let me go. Twice. No way was I bitter about that. Why should I be? He was no different than anyone else. I just plastered a smile on my face.

"He doesn't know," Zoan also said to me.

Uhhh? He didn't know? How could he not know?! No, no. I must remain calm. No need to stress out my darlings and dears. I needed to take care of my darlings and dears. "Let's hope he likes surprises." I wanted to see them anyway soon. "He is with my dears. Juniper is watching her."

"Him? Her?" That woman Mattie had also been there. In fact, looking outward she saw all of the people that first came that one day back with Devin. It looked like they all wanted to join the show that was starting.

Fine. It was no different. I escorted them through the house, excusing my dears and darlings. I needed to hurry this introduction up, or I would fall off schedule and my dears and darlings would get hungry.

There was some growling here and there as we moved through the house. They were actual werewolves so it was no surprise. I went into the backyard.

There she had been. She was toddling toward me, holding her dog bowl. "Ma ma."

"I don't have food yet, Darling," I told her. I gestured toward Devin. "This is your biological daughter. She isn't allowed a name or in the house." Oh. No, it didn't look like any of them liked the sound of that. Well? Life had been what it had been. "Time to meet your biological son."

"How?!" Mattie was the one that shouted while Devin just stood there and looked stunned at our girl. It was probably a shock, but it had to be done, but it was taking up my time. Zoan or Juniper could explain better.

"Ask Mads for a better explanation," Juniper said. "Somehow, your area was working in a compromise. When's the last time you went to the doctor, Devin?"

Juniper was wonderful, one of the best of the darlings. Not that I could ever say that out loud. "Let's go see Wolfie." Let's see, who would have him today? "I do not know which dad has him today. Let's try my dears, then my-?" Oh no, I was running out of time. This was taking too long, I still had breakfast to finish up. "Later, I have to finish breakfast."
