Chapter 6

Page 58- _Escaping ulterior desires_

Canine howls echoed in the dark night while everyone thought of words to break the stiff empty atmosphere. Only one thought lingered in Rintaro's clear calm mind. She was determined to know more about Keisuke's family after getting a go-ahead from the second prince. Mouth opened she heard a disturbing snore coming from dead-asleep Hiro. The prince had passed to the dream world as he groaned on the table almost about to roll into a soy sauce bowl. Keisuke caught him right before the sleep-act yet he barely opened his eyes let alone bulge in surprise.

Keisuke.... _Huuh! how come you can sleep soundly on a table full of food?._

He released a deep sigh while questioning his brother but stumbled upon a silent reply. Folding his arms around the poor innocent looking guy, he shouldered his left hand.

Keisuke.... _Sorry Rin, seems like i've gotta carry this useless brute back to our room. You can wait for me till i get back ok._

Rintarõ.... _Oh it's ok, i was thinking of going to sleep too, we can go together._

Keisuke.... _But weren't you saying something about wanting to know the imperial family?_

Rintarõ.... _It's already late so it can wait until tomorrow._

She could feel her gentle voice waver in disappointment. As much as she badly wanted to know, even she knew limits to asking at bad times. And the endless yawns firing from Kei one after the other made her strong determination disappear. The two walked out the room with him struggling to carry plod-limping Hiro. Pity amassed Haruno offered her help, or more like forcefully held the right hand. She knew _prince charming_ would refuse the help trying to practice his chivalry.

After a much troubling while they reached the intimidating room of the princes. With amazing strength and god-speed they threw Hiro on the bed. Even slammed sleepy boy didn't wake up, he actually rolled over to the middle. In response to the summer night, Keisuke pushed him back and tucked him into a single sheet covering most of his body.

Rintarõ.... _Hehe~ he's surprisingly a heavy sleeper._

She chuckled in whisper and looked towards Keisuke ready to say goodbye.

Keisuke.... _Yeah that's for sure, i can see he hasn't changed one bit in seven years. Huh, ok now, let's get you back to your room._

As difficult given the spacious confusing passages as it was, Rintaro refused his polite offer. She press-charged it under false pretenses of wanting to get used to the mansion, but deep down she knew the truth. Her emotions laid in restlessness as they battled to find the feeling she had felt earlier on the shopping trip. Dumbfounded prince Keisuke simply agreed pasted with a condition of getting just outside their dark passage.

Shadow shades slid through the walls split by the full-moon luminous light. As before some rooms were open paving way for clear lighting through the bengal white stripped curtains. Soon they had reached the end corridor in silence. Keisuke serenaded his goodbyes and turned to walk away, but apparently Rin wasn't ready for an end to the blissful night. She aimed to yell goodnight and yet before she knew it, her least expected to say question had escaped.
