Chapter 101 – Kavid

Robert's POV

The next morning, after a good night sleep, we all woke up, packed up, and left the site where the dead giant cobra is as the spirit and the giant snake wavered us goodbye before they went back to their home in the trees. Man, that task last night really causes us to lose track of time, but, it's worth it. We had a lot of sacks of giant cobra scales for sale at the nearest village or town. I'm so excited to see people's reactions when they see those things.

Along the way, we did the same things to pass the time, playing cards and reading books. But the space in the wagon was a bit tight due to the sacks of giant cobra scales, but Tanaka and Tadashi are kind enough to store most of them in their wagon.

Later, at 10 in the morning, we arrived at our next stop. And on the sign stands the name of the place, Kavid, a small town in the valleys. As we pass through the town, we saw that the buildings and people's clothing and lifestyles are a bit similar to the people of my kingdom.

"I think the desert part of this kingdom is still ahead," I thought in assuming.

Then, after that, I heard someone saying, "I got ten!"

I then glanced at who said and it turns out to be Emma.

"Are you cheating?" William asked in response to this.

"Nope, not at all," Emma replied back blissfully.

"Oh, really? I got a twenty!" William responded as he places a card on top of Emma's.

"No way!" Emma responded in losing against her cousin. "H-How?"

William then chuckled. "You'll never know my secret."

"No fair!" Emma shouted back.

And then, Sol intervened and responded, "Now, now, you two, be fair. It's just a game."

Emma then puffed with pride despite her defeat in that game of cards.

Peter, who was reading a book, then said to Emma, "He's right, sis, it's just a game."

"Hmph! Whatever," Emma retorted back.

I then chuckled a bit.

Shortly thereafter, the two wagons came to a stop, and Zarah and Tanaka get off and Tanaka said to us, "Come on, guys, get off. Let's eat a nice breakfast."

"Okay!" I replied back easily, before leaving the cards behind and standing up. I then get off the wagon and stretched my legs because of hours of being seated.

"So, this is Kavid, right?" I asked while looking around my surroundings. "I read the sign."

"Yes, and we're here to eat breakfast and do some trading so we give away most of our giant cobra scales," Zarah replied back.

"I see," I responded while wiping the sweat off my forehead with a towel. "Where are we gonna eat?"

"I know a good restaurant somewhere here," Zarah replied back.

Then, William and Harold get off the wagon, and William asked where we will sell most of the giant cobra scales.

"Well," Zarah answered back while thinking for a bit, "we can do that at a marketplace and at an armor workshop."

"Is there such shop in this town?" Harold asked back.

"I would say, there is," Zarah replied. "Somewhere in this town…"

"…but we'll do it once we ate breakfast," Tanaka completed Zarah's sentence quickly.

"Okay! I'm starving," I responded back.

And so, the rest of us, including the driver of Zarah's wagon, get off, and we all went to the restaurant Zarah had recommended, which was just next to a marketplace. I can tell because of the bustling activity of selling and buying, and of course, the tented stands and hundreds of thousands of different products and commodities.

Later, at the said restaurant, while eating and drinking, we began to discuss on how to price our commodities.

"So, should we make it 100 gold coins per sack?" Peter asked.

"Well, since I am a prince," William objected partially, "I had a lot of money, so let's make it 70."

"Me too, I'm not into money," I agreed in response.

"How about this?" Zarah made another suggestion. "Let's increase it to 80 gold coins per sack."

"Do you really need that much money?" Harold asked back.

"Well, since those things are rare," Zarah reasoned in response, "the price should be high."

"How about we make it 77 per sack?" Sol suggested.

The rest then looked at him in astonishing surprise.

"Woah, 77?" I asked back. "Are you sure about that?"

"It's just a suggestion," Sol responded back, "so you can take it or leave it."

He then resumed eating.

To that, the rest of us began to think about it seriously.

"77, eh?" Peter commented. "How it will be a high price?"

"Well, the common scales priced around 20-35 gold coins per sack," Emma responded back.

"And the fruits and vegetables are around 5-10 gold coins per bag," Blaise responded, "so…"

"Guys, I think it's a good price," I replied back. "After all, we have a lot of sacks of it, so the price must be lower than 100."

"Make sense," William responded. "Since we're not into money at all, I would consider it."

He then looked at Sol and responded, "Headmaster, thanks for your suggestion."

Sol then interrupted his eating, looked at him, and swallowed his food, before replying, "You're welcome, William-kun, I'm just giving out a suggestion."

"Also, let's split the money equally, too," I suggested.

"That'll be a great idea," Tanaka agreed with me.
