Chapter 169 – Assassination

Third person POV

Shortly thereafter, their battles had begun. Arnold and Zaiaku are observing from the rooftop of the arena building with an Akuma ninja, who was armed with a bow and poison-laced arrows. Robert, William, Emma, and Peter, alongside Sora, are battling like yesterday and the day before that. Lain, however, had purposely changed his battle schedule to 11 in the morning so he would battle Harold and help fend off the Akuma ninjas. Their battles are mundane and involve any other participants. In those battles, Robert, Peter, and Sora won while Emma, Zarah, and William lose.

So, at 11 in the morning, it was Harold and Lain who will be in that round. Then, after the host shouted "Fight", both of them drew out their weapons and started their fight. Arnold and Zaiaku are watching and observing their fight, expecting that Harold would be open so the ninja would fire his arrow.

Back at the fight, Lain used his aura magic to create a barrier to block Harold's Earth Spikes.

The barrier did the trick, and Harold tried again by using Earth Pillar.

But Lain just jumped and attacked the young prince with his sword shrouded in aura.

Harold then blocked his attack with his sword.

Both sides are now struggling to push each other out.

But then, Lain purposely let Harold push him out so he would catch Arnold in his trap.

Once Harold was opened, Arnold gave the green light to the Akuma ninja. "Now!"

And so, the Akuma ninja archer pulled the string of his bow and fired the arrow towards Harold.

But then, Robert used an Electric Force Field to block the arrow from hitting Harold.

This sudden scene causes the audience to gasp at it.

When Harold lower his guard down, he saw that he was inside the dome of Robert's Electric Force Field.

The shogun and the others saw this, too, as well as Sol, Marionette, and Blaise.

Lain already knew the plan from his servant the night before.

Upon seeing that, Arnold was frustrated and knew that Robert foiled his assassination of his youngest brother.
