Chapter 16 : A bittersweet reunion

As Danisa stepped out of the taxi, the warm sunlight caught his face, illuminating the mix of emotions that swirled inside him. He felt a sense of trepidation, wondering how his mother would react to his visit.

Aunt Rose took his hand, her gentle squeeze a reassuring reminder that she was there to support him. Together, they walked towards the care facility, the sound of their footsteps echoing through the quiet morning air.

Inside, the facility was warm and welcoming, with soft music playing in the background and the scent of fresh flowers wafting through the corridors. Danisa's anxiety began to dissipate as he followed Aunt Rose to his mother's room.

As they entered, Danisa's eyes scanned the room, searching for his mother. And then, he saw her. She was sitting in a wheelchair, her eyes closed as if in sleep. Danisa's heart skipped a beat as he rushed towards her, his arms open wide.

"Mom!" he exclaimed, his voice trembling with emotion.

His mother's eyes fluttered open, and a weak smile spread across her face. "Danisa," she whispered, her voice barely audible.

Danisa felt a lump form in his throat as he hugged his mother tightly, tears of joy streaming down his face. It was a bittersweet reunion, one that filled his heart with both happiness and sadness.
