Chapter 27: A darkening shadow

Aunt Rose's expression had changed, her eyes narrowing into slits as she watched Danisa and Akua laughing together. It was a subtle shift, but Danisa sensed a darkening shadow in her demeanor.

At first, Danisa brushed it off as mere imagination, but as the days went by, he noticed that Aunt Rose's behavior towards him was becoming increasingly erratic. She would lash out at him for no reason, her words cutting deep into his soul.

Danisa tried to avoid her, spending more time with Akua and less time at home. But Aunt Rose's presence seemed to loom over him, casting a dark shadow over his life.

One evening, as Danisa was getting ready for bed, Aunt Rose stormed into his room, her face twisted in anger. "You're spending too much time with that girl," she spat, her voice venomous. "You need to focus on your studies, not waste your time on frivolous things."

Danisa felt a surge of fear as Aunt Rose's anger washed over him. He knew that he had to tread carefully, but a part of him wanted to rebel against her tyranny. Little did he know, things were about to take a turn for the worse.
