Chapter 33: A glimpse of the past

Aunt Rose's eyes seemed to bore into Danisa's soul, as if she was searching for something she had lost. Her gaze was intense, yet fragile, like a delicate flower that might wilt at any moment.

Danisa felt a shiver run down his spine as he met her gaze. He sensed that Aunt Rose was on the verge of remembering something, something that had been hidden deep within her mind for a long time.

Suddenly, a look of wonder crossed Aunt Rose's face, followed by a faint smile. "I remember the park," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I remember pushing you on the swings and watching you laugh."

Danisa's heart swelled with emotion as he heard the nostalgia in her voice. He had forgotten about the park, but now the memories came flooding back. He remembered the feel of the sun on his face, the smell of the grass, and the sound of Aunt Rose's laughter.

Aunt Rose's eyes sparkled with tears as she reached out and gently touched Danisa's face. "My dear boy," she whispered. "I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry for everything."

Danisa felt a lump form in his throat as he looked at Aunt Rose. He saw the regret in her eyes, the sorrow and the shame. But he also saw something else - a glimmer of hope, a chance for redemption and forgiveness.
