Chris's house was small. Not small- small, but just enough. He said it had two bedrooms, a kitchen, two bathrooms and a living room and Syne wondered how that was "small" to him. He was crazy.
The house felt homely. He couldn't help but admire how neat his house was.
"Do you like it?" Chris asked from behind him.
Syne nodded. "It's nice. It has an unexpected look though".
Chris looked like the guy who would have a sound system, crazy wall paintings, not-so-organized… yeah, that was very stereotypical of Syne.
Chris chuckled. "It's comfy. I like it".
"I can see that".
"You can sit down", the older man said. "I'm going to get us something to drink".
"Okay".
He turned to see that Chris was gone. Wow, he was fast. He sat down on the blue couch and sighed as he relaxed. Nice.
It's been almost two weeks since their "encounter" in his room on his birthday week. Syne blushed as he remembered all their activities. He'd succeeded in giving Chris head, got one in turn. They didn't really do anything else but touching each other and kissing– they were nice kisses.
He was happy Chris didn't ignore him or anything after that, instead, he was nicer and communicated more often. He was even more happy when he invited him to spend some time with him in his house, that he was having a few days break from work.
For work, Chris was actually a caterer. Another thing no one would expect, that shit didn't fit his personality or anything at all.
"I just brought some yogurt and cookies, I hope you don't mind", Chris announced, coming from the kitchen.
"I don't mind, I like cookies. Thanks".
He reached out to take a cookie from the plate placed on the table and took a bite. Damn, it was good. And hot. No wonder he was rushing to carry him– something was in the oven.
"I think it's great that you're your own boss, you know", Syne began, "And that you cook and bake, means I can take advantage of that and get free things".
Chris laughed. "Even I don't get free things from myself".
Syne shrugged. "I'm special".
"No lies detected". He opened his yogurt and started drinking, probably leaving the cookies for him. Syne wasn't a terrible person though, he was slowing down on his intake so he'd have some at least. "So how's school?" He asked, a smile on his face.
"It's cool. It's not all work like that anymore, since Dave's been pestered by the twins now, at least I have some entertainment".
The twins used every opportunity to ask Dave out which he'd always refused– with a flushed face. He kept trying to tell them that he preferred women. They didn't believe him of course.
"That's funny to think about", Chris commented.
"Yeah, but he's not telling them to fuck off so I don't think it's so bad".
"You're so hardworking, I admire that".
Syne turned to see Chris looking at him with such a… weird expression. It wasn't bad or anything, it was just weird to see.
"So… are we going to talk about it?" Syne decided to ask what he'd been planning.
He'd never brought it up to him nor his friends– they'd kill him– and he'd been dying to get closure. He didn't want to be a one night stand or just someone insignificant.
"Yeah…about that". Chris took a gulp of his yogurt and turned back to look at him. "Do you want to…go further?"
The way he asked, it was like he was unsure. He should be. It was like he knew what Syne was going to say in response to such a stupid question.
"We're friends", Syne said, breaking a cookie into two to eat. "I'm not going to do anything with you again if we're not together and if you're still dating someone else. You basically cheated on my aunt, I hope you're aware".
Though he was sure his aunt had cheated a couple of times too. But he just wasn't interested in being involved in such a messy situation.
"Syne– "
Syne raised a hand to stop him from talking. "We're never doing that again. You're probably sex-starved or something and I'm not here to relieve you of any of that shit. I've already given my conditions, I don't know what else you want me to do or say".
Chris kept quiet for a bit before he responded, "Okay. I respect that".
Syne sighed. He looked around his environment in silence.
"Show me around. Or show me something cool, if you don't mind".
"Sure".
