Chapter 11

To me, it was just one of those special days, rewarding my passion with plenty hours of history lessons. Meaning more knowledge about the imperial family, my only cousins.

Before i could suppress my ardent delight, a gloomy sky was inching closer, hand glued to the door reserving a bedeviling figure.

My gloss-pasted lips cracked a huge smile, rising to the daring sight of a dignified aunt. Though i rarely knew most about the emperor's former wife (Senami Kasui), woeful ignorance couldn't stop me from adoring the graceful lady by our doorway.

Stagnate smothered by expensive grams of makeup and glowing cheeks. Not to say i didn't like it, but her face painted with a wintry smile thrust chills down my body.

Illuminating a crystal clear sparkle, her diamond crested scarpin heels tussled through the carpet, walking in uninvited. But who was i to say no before an emerald laced floral azure national treasure dressed empress? I doubt anyone could've have tread upon the speech path.

Ornamental sapphires twinkled as she turned to lift her lace, gently placing royal behinds into our fairly suitable couch. How i fired whispers of a commoner just to find it comfortable. Luckily the heavens answered my cries, easily downing my thumping heart. She swooped off a midnight blue fascinator hat, shaking her two bold sea-capturing purple earrings. Off the hides, silky ruby red hair rounded to a pompous bomb, bored by a chinese traditional prussian blue hairpin through the head. No doubt it truly captured the stature of an empress.

What with the brown feral fur coat shaking off her smooth shoulders, even i felt intimidated by seated royalty.

'Come on now young lady," her soft voice said, missiles of mellow gentleness bettering my thrilled heart.

As per her command, i found myself settled next to a gorgeous aura radiating a blinding light. In the thrifty passing moments we hugged, traversed on the path of greetings, and stumbled upon the clarity of her special visit.

Empress Nagisa.... _Since your parents tend to be out a lot, i'll do the honors of informing them over our meager occurring change._

Struck by familiar unease, i couldn't help but pardon the confusing sentence. Even if it meant my mind would waver along with shivering legs. Boldly so i returned the question, straining volume to a manageable whisper.

Fortunately her majesty did not show any signs of contempt, rather she seemed to have expected that.

Empress Nagisa.... _I have an important task for you, and the whole imperial family depends on it. In return, this very special task will allow you to go to school, protect your only cousins, and perhaps earn you different respect from your parents._

Waves of disbelief washed away any lingering hopes until noticing the better version of her cold smile.
