Post War (3)

"This... Lei Jin, what's going on? This tone is powerful, even 9th rank open heavens can't resist it. The feeling of a motherly warmth and the feeling of a new dawn are overwhelming." Azure Heart flew over to Lei Jin, in a curious panic.

"There is no need to fear, Mother-in-law. This is a very good thing. And it will be revealed just how much soon. That's all I can understand at the moment. And Husband has been like this for quite a while now. So there won't be much else we can find out until he recovers." Qing Ning explained in Lei Jin's place. Such is her duty as the 1st Wife.

"I... I see, so then, it must be something related to making himself emotional. With that combined with the fact he said it was alright. And the sound of a toll that makes even 9th rank's tremble a bit. It can only be the toll of a newly crowned Supreme Being. But if it's also connected to him, I can't think of anyone that would serve as Supreme Beings." Azure Heart said, as she pondered through her thoughts.

"It... It's not possible..." Lei Jin muttered. "Children, Xin Xia, please, get up for a moment." Lei Jin murmured out in a soft low voice.

The twins got down and so did Xin Xia. No one would dare not listen to Lei Jin when he asked them to do something. However, they felt that this time, even if they wanted to ignore it. They wouldn't be able to. Lei Jin likely would have mobilized his strength to remove them if they hadn't done so themselves. And that wasn't something anyone would like to feel. Something similar to being let down by the one they trusted most.

Lei Jin flew out of the room and floated in the void, waiting. "It can't be them, can it?" He thought. As the ringing continued.

Several hours later the ringing came to an end. And two distinctly different powers could be sensed off in the distance. It was clear to Lei Jin the moment he sensed them, who they were. He just couldn't believe it. Such a thing was impossible, even for him, to pull off. Yet here they were.

As if sensing Lei Jin's anguish and confusion over this, the two powers surged and flew over. Neither of them had any remote degree of hostility. Rather it was a very different air around them. Around one, was the sensation of comfort, the kind only a mother could give. And around the other was the sensation of pride, the kind that only a father could have. Lei Jin had no way of knowing if the sensations he was getting were purely because of their identity as Supreme Beings, or something else. That was until his eyes were graced with their appearances.

Sir Azure Void managed to sense something just in time. He looked up and instantly had a wave of different emotions come over him. He didn't know how to feel, nor what to say. But there was no doubt his tear ducts had no choice but to relax, and tears began to flow. A hand was placed on his shoulder. It was Smiles, and she gave Azure Void a pleasant and thoughtful smile, one that made any guilt he felt vanish into thin air.

"I never expected, nor thought something like this was possible." Sir Azure Void said as he blubbered away.

"For now, let's not worry about the how or why. And instead focus on the fact it did and be happy about that. So smile cheerfully." Smiles said, with a smile of her own. "Brother Azure Void really did have a hard time dealing with the deaths of those two. No wonder he hasn't broken through yet, despite how easy it would be for him at his current power. This event is surely going to make him relieved. However, it could stir up some resentment among the people... Oh, never mind, I doubt that would be a problem." She thought, realizing that everyone wouldn't dare have a problem with it.

"There is likely a very good reason why it's those two. So I won't dare to have a problem with this." And "That's right! After all, the situation we have now would have been impossible without Lei Jin." As well as a few other similar things were being said throughout the army. Everyone knew exactly who these two were. It had been long enough that everyone had been able to see their portraits. So it was absolutely impossible for the army to not recognize these two. And when Xin Xia rushed out as well, that pretty much cemented exactly who they were.

"Husband, it's... It's really them!" Xin Xia said, nearly crying, no, she couldn't stop crying.

"It really is, but it can't be. But it is them. I..." Lei Jin stammered.

In that moment when Xin Xia and Lei Jin were thinking about the situation, trying not to become lost in their emotion. An absolutely stunningly beautiful woman wrapped her arms around them both and pulled the two of them in for a warm hug.

"Mother has missed you two so much." The woman said, with a tearful smile on her face, as she kept kissing and nuzzling atop Lei Jin and Xin Xia's heads.

"Son! You did an incredible job. I couldn't be more proud of your accomplishments." A man said, placing a heavy, yet comforting hand atop Lei Jin's head.

"This hug... This scent... This warmth... Mother, you're... You're really back!?" Lei Jin cried out, letting loose the pent up tears. The hug he had been waiting so patiently for all those years ago, only to never get it, has finally come. "This hand... It really is Father!" He stammered while his voice was muffled by his mother's body.

"That's right my son. Mother has come back. Please forgive us for being away so long." Lei Jin's Mother said, holding him tighter.

"That's right, it has been quite difficult on you when we left you like that." Lei Jin's Father said, with a difficult look on his face. "Let's go inside and catch up. I'm sure you have a lot of questions for us." He added.

Lei Jin nodded his head but didn't stop holding onto his mother. For that matter, nor did Xin Xia, for her, her master has just returned, in other words, the woman who raised her, otherwise known as a mother.
