Ch. 6 He Had Three Soul Types?!

"What's your name, son?" the old geezer had managed to overcome his shock and returned to behaving normally. Even so, he still felt curious about this kid's background.

"My name is Paskha," answered Paskha respectfully as he walked out of the array circle. He knew even if he only had innate mana level seven―possessing two different soul types would be considered an extremely talented child among gifted ones.

Paskha reflexively lowered his head when he felt warmth on his feet. How shocked he was when he saw the blue light starting to fade from the ground beneath his feet.

Paskha immediately stood straight to block the blue light so the old geezer would not see it. He didn't expect to have a third soul type at all!!

"Paskha? Who are your parents? And where do you live?"

This was what Paskha disliked the most. He remembered this geezer asking the same thing after learning about his two soul types and full innate mana. This geezer made a fuzz and let the whole kingdom know about his talent until King Ahasuerus heard about it.

It didn't matter if everyone knew about his soul types, but he was tired of dealing with people who went green in envy and antagonized him for no apparent reason.

He doubted the court would be interested in training him as a golden general. Even though he had two different soul types, all this old geezer knew was that Paskha only had seventh-level innate mana.

No matter how smart and diligent one was, if the innate mana's level were only at level seven, one would not be able to use both spirit abilities at the same time, let alone master them to their peak potential.

Perhaps one could master both if one of the soul types was the support or passive. But Paskha's soul type was offensive while the other was defending―both were active soul types. One could only train the two equally if he had ninth or tenth-grade innate mana.

"Why are you curious about my family?" instead of answering the geezer's question, Paskha asked back.

"I was wondering if your parents were the attacking or defensive type. It will be easy to practice following your parents' type." In other words, the geezer told him to choose one.

"But… neither of my parents were cultivators―their innate mana levels are only two and three."

"What? Then how did you reach the seventh level?"

"I don't know." Paskha wished he knew the answer. His parents were just ordinary oil merchants and died in an accident when he was learning to walk. People said the bandits attacked Paskha's parents on the way to the southern kingdom. Not only was the oil robbed, but they were also mercilessly killed.

Until now… until the tragic war happened, Paskha has not been able to find the bandits who attacked his parents.

"Where are they now?" The old man of the ritual guard was still curious about Paskha's background. It was extremely rare for someone to have two different soul types, let alone both being of the active type.

"They are gone. It is said that a group of bandits attacked them when I was a toddler."

"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. You had a tough time."

Paskha didn't know if he had a hard time or not. His parents died when he was very young, so he didn't remember what his parents were like.

Fortunately, King Ahasuerus had long established a shelter for orphans so that Paskha's needs were fulfilled despite not having both parents.

Come to think of it… who were the identities of his parents? Usually, a child's soul type and innate mana level wouldn't differ much from their parents. Having more than one soul type and full innate mana, Paskha couldn't help but wonder about his parents' identity.

"This is an inscription regarding your innate mana level and soul type. Since you have active-type abilities, you can enter the Four Elements academy if you want."

The Four Elements Academy was one of the best cultivation academies in the country. As long as one had active soul types and seventh-level innate mana, prospective disciples were directly admitted there without taking the entrance exam.

Below that, the others had to take quite difficult entrance exams as the academy only accepted the best and most gifted students among the other talents.

Paskha did not have time to enter this academy in the past because he was immediately sent to the palace to train as a gold general candidate. He was unable to enjoy his school time at this academy either since he had decided to take up immortal cultivation training.

"Respected Sir, where should I go if I were to take up immortal cultivation training?"

"Forget about that idea. With that level of innate mana, you'll never succeed even if you have two active soul types."

"I know. I'm just curious."

The older man sighed resignedly while shaking his head. "If you have innate mana level nine and above and have at least two active soul types, you can go directly to Sir Clove. He is the intermediary between the Holytane Mountain and the Plains Kingdom."

Ah… that's why Sir Clove often persuaded him to join immortal cultivation training in the past—noted Paskha.

So if he wanted to participate in immortal cultivation training, he would have to find Sir Clove first. Isn't it simple and easy? After all, he intended to make Sir Clove his direct teacher.

A satisfied smile was perfectly printed on his still child-like face. But strangely, the gleam of his eyes was filled with a high and unwavering determination.

'Very weird. Why do I feel like I'm facing a Golden General?' thought the geezer confusedly.
