Chapter 27: Means to an End

Layla’s eyes opened slowly from the vision she'd just had. She could still feel Ravana’s lips on hers, along with the brutal grip on her wrist. These dreams weren’t just dreams, she was somehow visiting these places. Atreus thought he was protecting her, but Ravana was getting through in different ways.

As she lay there a turmoil of emotions flowed through her. She was so angry at Ravana for infiltrating her mind like this. Angry that his words were creating doubt between her and Atreus. Not to mention confusion. She didn’t know why Atreus would allow these doubts to fester in her mind. Why was he being so stubborn?

To her frustration, Ravana was right and Layla knew it. She just didn’t want to see it before.

She slipped out of bed in nothing but her underwear and a t-shirt. She didn't bother looking at Atreus as she walked into the bathroom.
