"Push, Megan," Levx echoed Dena's instructions. All three girls were breech but Megan had said she didn't want a C-section if she could avoid it. Nerves thrashed against his insides. Yet every time she glanced his way, he smiled despite the fact her grip was cutting the circulation off in his hand. Not to mention her nails piercing into his flesh but he would rip out his spleen if he could ease her pain.

"You push!" She gritted out. "Why did I let you talk me into this?"

"Honey, I wasn't there, remember?" he said gently.

Her nails dug deeper into his skin as a contraction shoved through her. "Right. Don't ever get captured again or I might just leave you there next time."

Of course, she was angry with him. Childbirth wasn't easy and the best he could do was be here for her now. "I'm not going anywhere."

She screamed, and his heart seized. The dragon inside him wanting to burst free and stop whoever was hurting her.
