I don't know how long I cried in the bathroom, but someone came in wearing a spicy perfume that tickled my nose.


"Are you going to stay here all day?" Megan's voice echoed in the small bathroom.


I pushed up on my feet, my legs unsteady from sitting so long and opened the door. "There are other stalls if you need - "


"What are you doing in there?" She made a face. "Have you even eaten anything today? Never mind, I know you haven't because I've been starving all day and even though I ate a whole pizza, I have this gnawing in the pit of my stomach that I can't get rid of. Then I thought, why do I feel this way."


She snapped her fingers before I could answer her. "I know, it's because I'm still magically bonded to Zoey Dane. But where is she? She promised to break this chain connecting us."


She crossed her arms. "Well, is the spellbook you used here?"
