Chapter 6: Director: Can you remember this is a romance variety show!

"If you're about to pass out, you call an ambulance, not morally kidnap me." Sang Qiao slowly lifted her eyes, looking at them with an air of detachment.

"Qiaoqiao, don't be angry, I'm fine. My brother and Mobei are just too concerned about me. I can walk, no need for a car. Mr. Si, please take Qiaoqiao to the guesthouse first."

Despite appearing extremely weak, Sang Jiao still stood with strength and elegance, revealing a smile she believed could make any man's heart flutter.

She moved closer to the handsome newcomer, always preferring to use a strategic retreat as an approach. She was confident that Sang Qiao's partner would take her side.

"Let go, don't cling to the car."

Si Chenli furrowed his brows and leaned back in disgust, his back pressing against a soft body carrying a faint scent.

However, Sang Qiao didn't notice their bodies pressed so closely together, and as she listened to Si Chenli's words, she silently praised him for not being swayed by flattery.

[Help, I'm dying of laughter! Sang Jiao says she doesn't need the car, but her hand is still gripping it. Is this some sort of reverse psychology?]

[Hahaha I just can't understand, why does Sang Jiao get so close when she talks?]

[This guy is such a straight shooter! But he's really protective of Sang Qiao. Guys, I'm totally shipping them.]

[What's to ship about a man who shows no gentlemanly courtesy? Jiaojiao is so weak, and he's so heartless, not giving Jiaojiao face. He'll probably treat Sang Qiao the same way in the future. I don't get what you all see in them.]

"Sorry..." Sang Jiao showed difficulty in her face and reluctantly let go of the hand. The car, like a little sheep, drove away without any intention of waiting for them.

This was the first time a man had spoken to her so ruthlessly face to face. Could it be because Sang Qiao had been badmouthing her behind her back?

Thinking this, her hands involuntarily clenched into fists. If Sang Qiao always wanted to be contrary to her, she couldn't blame her for being unkind!

By the time the others arrived at the guesthouse, exhausted, they saw Sang Qiao and her group had already finished eating and were leisurely sitting in swing chairs. The sight nearly made them spit blood.

After they also washed up and had their fill, the crew brought out stools. "Considering everyone's had a hard day, tonight the crew will not arrange any games or tasks. Feel free to chat."

"The crew finally became humane!"

Lu Tianxin couldn't contain her excitement and immediately pulled up a stool next to Sang Jiao to cozy up to her. "Jiaojiao, your bare face looks so good, you're still so beautiful without makeup."

"It's okay, I generally don't pay much attention to skincare," chuckled Sang Jiao at the compliment.

"To be so beautiful without taking care of your skin, that's what you call natural beauty." Liang Mengyun noticed the light makeup on Sang Jiao's face but didn't call her out directly. She too wanted to curry favor with Sang Jiao.

After all, the other woman was the sister of a famous actor, and she... harbored a secret in her heart.

"I always pay attention to skincare, I don't know why my skin is still so troubled," Meng Wangge touched her face, feeling a bit anxious about her acne.

"Can you even compare to Sister Jiaojiao? That's just funny," Lu Tianxin said disdainfully, unable to suppress her scorn.

Such a country bumpkin. She couldn't fathom how such a person ended up on a love reality show, so embarrassing.

"I'm not comparing myself to her, it's just..."

"Ah, Sister Jiaojiao, let's share a room tonight!" Lu Tianxin deliberately nudged her, using the conversation to ignore the country bumpkin.

"Sure."

Meng Wangge stood by, thoroughly ignored for a while, her face a mix of embarrassment and discomfort.

Isn't Jiaojiao supposed to be a really nice person? So why didn't she feel it... And there was clearly lipstick on Sang Jiao's lips.

She had to give up on becoming friends with Sang Jiao and turned to approach Sang Qiao, who was sitting alone in the corner, "Why are you sitting here by yourself? Won't you go chat with them?"

"Not interested," Sang Qiao said, watching the ants move about in the soil and idly swinging on the swing.

"Don't you think you're being anti-social like this?"

"Pretending to fit in is only deceiving yourself," Sang Qiao lifted her eyes to look at her.

Meng Wange's fingers gripped each other nervously as if struck by those words. Yes, from the attitude they showed her just now, it was clear to anyone watching the screen that she was not one of them.

The silence lingered for a while before Sang Qiao asked unhurriedly, "Have you signed with a company yet?"

"No," Meng Wange shook her head.

"Do you want to sign with the company I'm with? It's newly established but very reliable, with a thirty to seventy split, you get the seventy, and the resources are definitely high-quality and respectful of the actors' wishes. As long as you're willing to work hard, you could be the next shining star."

"You sound like a shady broker scamming people," Meng Wange was taken aback and couldn't help feeling inspired by how capacious Sang Qiao's lungs were, able to speak such a long sentence without needing to catch her breath.

Sang Qiao: "..."

[...I'm dying, so does Sang Qiao know that the camera has quietly turned to them?]

[Director: Can you remember this is a love-themed show! It's not a place for you to recruit people!]

[Could Sang Qiao's new company be a rubbish company that can't recruit people, so they sent Sang Qiao out to cheat and deceive, and to exploit actors for their money?]

"Young person, think it over carefully. If you're interested, contact me; I'll give you the details."

"...Okay, but... Don't you think I look very average and plain?" Meng Wange felt a mix of emotions, whether or not this was a dependable company.

But! This was the first company that wanted to sign her.

"Be more confident; my Sang Qiao's judgment is never off," Sang Qiao patted her shoulder.

After saying that, Sang Qiao wanted to go back to her room to rest. When she turned around, she saw the camera pointed at her, and the director was standing with his arms crossed behind his back, his gaze fixed on her.

"So tired, so tired," Sang Qiao said with composure, as if nothing had happened, and walked right past.

Director: "..."

As soon as she went upstairs, she lay down on the big bed with a sense of lifelessness, thinking who in life hasn't socially died, Buddha-like, stay calm!

She hadn't been lying down for long when she heard the sound of the door being pushed open, and Meng Wange's excited voice, "Sang Qiao! I told the director I'll share a room with you!"

"Okay."

Not long after, there was another knock on the door, and Liang Mengyun's voice was humble, "Sang Qiao, Wange, can I share a room with you two?"

"Sure," Sang Qiao was very laissez-faire about it.

Meng Wange was puzzled, "Won't you share a room with Sang Jiao and the others?"

"They don't like the room to be too crowded," Liang Mengyun said with some discomfort. It was understandable for Lu Tianxin to target her since that's just how she was.

But even Sang Jiao was filled with malice towards her; they ganged up to say that having three beds in the room was too crowded. They also spread rumors that she snored loudly in her sleep, and often did not bathe or maintain hygiene.

Remembering the exclusion she just faced, her heart felt especially heavy.

"I see, it's fine. You can live with us. The room is quite big. There's no problem fitting three beds!" Meng Wange could probably hear a hint of grievance.
