They kissed.

A day later,

Kiyoko was hastily walking on the lakeside pavement. She abruptly stopped walking and turned back to see the person. The person was casually walking, wheeling his bicycle by his side.

It was Hinata Yamamoto. He seemed surprised when Kiyoko suddenly turned around.

"Why are you following me? The article work is done isn't it?!"

'We discussed about that article yesterday. But why is he here again?' She thought.

"I am going home. Mind your own business and keep walking." Hinata replied casually.

'This brat…' Kiyoko cursed him inwardly.

"Why don't you ride your bicycle?" Kiyoko asked.

"I feel like walking. Do you have any problem?" Hinata gave a sly smile.

Kiyoko was irritated. She continued walking at a quick pace.

Hinata Yamamoto was such a shitty person.

Hinata smiled. He loved seeing Kiyoko's angry face.

'Why?' Hinata was not aware about the answer. He was just curious.

"Zehan Watanabe is your cousin brother?"

Kiyoko continued walking without answering.

"I just got to know it today." Hinata laughed.

Kiyoko was agitated. 'What is he trying to imply?!'

She was anxious because Hinata maybe knew she had feelings for Zehan.

"Yes he is my cousin brother." Kiyoko replied nonchalantly, trying her best to appear cool on the outside.

She nervously bit her lower lips.

"You two are so different from each other."

Kiyoko did not reply.

"So?" Kiyoko asked.

"Nothing…!" Hinata casually replied.

Kiyoko had reached her house. She turned towards her right to open the gate.

Right at that moment, she saw Zehan coming on his bicycle.

"Bye." Hinata cheerfully exclaimed.

Kiyoko cast a glance towards Hinata before going inside the house.

She did not bother to gesture a goodbye.

"Zehan, your sister has no respect for seniors." Hinata said.

Zehan alighted from his bike and stood before Hinata.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kiyoko saw through the kitchen window which overlooked the lawn in-front if the house.

Two high-school boys were talking with each other.

The boy wearing spectacles seemed care-free while the other's expression could not be seen as he was facing his back to Kiyoko.

Kiyoko shut the sliding pane of the window softly.

She opened the fridge and took out some rice crackers.

Kiyoko sat down on the couch in the living room.

She switched on the television while she took small bites of the rice crackers.

Her mind was messed up with all kinds of thoughts. She recalled what Hinata said just few minutes ago. She took a large bite of the rice cracker.

Hinata knew what she feels for Zehan.

She was restless. 'What were they talking?' 'Why were they taking so much time?'

What will happen if Hinata tells him?

Will he start hating her?

Will he avoid her?

She was scared and awed when she had realized that she had feelings for Zehan, her cousin brother.

Those feelings she should not have towards a cousin brother.

She tried to ignore those feelings. She tried hard.

But she fell for him hard. She wanted to spend more time with him. She started daydreaming about him. His each and every seemed attractive to her. A warm and gushy feeling conquered her every time he looked back at her. Maybe it was her part of her loneliness that triggered her feelings for Zehan.

Zehan walked inside the living room.

Kiyoko snapped out of her thoughts as she saw Zehan coming inside the room.

"Do not talk to that boy again." Zehan had tense jaws and lips. His voice was ominous. He was never so tense like this.

"What did Hinata say?" Kiyoko was afraid that Hinata Yamamoto might have said something regarding her.

"Hinata…? You two became so close that you are calling his name."

Zehan slowly approached the couch where Kiyoko sat.

It felt like a predator approaching a prey. He stood before Kiyoko.

"Do not call his name like that."

Kiyoko glanced at the face which was hovering over her. She nervously nodded her head. Her face was flustered with a reddish hue. She could hear Zehan's heavy breath upon her.

'Why is he so angry?'

Kiyoko gulped nervously.

But why was Zehan coming so close.

'Why is he?!'

Zehan leaned close to Kiyoko's face and said," I do not like when you talk to other boys."

He said those words right against Kiyoko's mouth, and then their lips met softly. They kissed.

Kiyoko had daydreamed about what it would be like when they kiss. But the sudden kiss made her euphoric. She did not even have the time to register the firm press of his lips against hers, without breath, before he pulled back.

Zehan's face froze, eyes wide with oh no written across them.

Kiyoko's expression was that of shock similar to Zehan's.

Zehan's face was crimsoned. Kiyoko had never seen such an expression on Zehan's face. She felt her heart palpitating wildly. Her heart was like a train pounding down the tracks.

"I shouldn't have done that," Zehan blurted out.

Zehan stormed out through the front door.

It was 10 pm when Zehan returned home.

Kiyoko heard the sound of Zehan's footsteps climbing upstairs. The footsteps stopped in front of her bedroom and then continued until she heard a creak sound. Zehan opened his bedroom door and then closed it shut.

Kiyoko tossed and turned on her bed all night.

She was having a sleepless night. She wondered what would happen the next morning.

She had a bright beaming smile on her face.
