I have feelings for you Professor.

WAKE YOUR DREAMS

I have feelings for you Professor.

Fanny Natsumi was the youngest granddaughter of a famous restaurant branch owner in China. She always dreamed to attend university in Japan, which she easily fulfilled because she was the youngest and the most adored grandchild.

Her grandfather brought a restaurant in Japan in her name and gifted its right to her.

Fanny was the most envied girl in college back then. She had both beauty and money of her own. She was a typical popular girl.

She also dated quite a few seniors as well as classmates.

She felt attracted towards a professor, which made her feel uncertain about herself.

He was Tomo Watanabe.

He was, well, different from all others. He was handsome; he had the appearance which could make him stand out in the crowd. He was fair, almost pale white. His pair of unfathomable black eyes contrasted which his light toned face. His eyes were deep and expressive, behind his spectacles.

He always spoke slowly. Each and every word was loud and clear.

Fanny Natsumi was quite daring.

She walked inside the office where Tomo Watanabe sat and straightforwardly said that she had feelings for him.

"I have feelings for you Professor."

"We should start dating after I graduate. What do you think?"

"I am only seven years younger than you. There is no problem at all." She said.

Fanny loved to see Tomo Watanabe's poker face flushing whenever their eyes met even during the lectures.

She was rejected many times. At times she felt dejected and tried to give up. She even started dating a senior. She thought her feelings for Tomo Watanabe would eventually change with time.

She would purposefully hang out with her boyfriend in front of Tomo Watanabe. She could always feel a strong gaze upon her then after. She loved that feeling.

One day when she was returning back from her lecture, someone pulled her inside an empty hall. She was pinned to the wall by a pair of strong and sturdy hands.

Fanny smiled when she saw the person's face. Tomo Watanabe's face was flushed with a reddish hue; his eyes looked straight towards her.

"Oh my professor…isn't this type of behavior unethical for a professor to do towards his student." She sneered.

To her surprise, Tomo Watanabe leaned closer and pinned his lips against her lips.

Soon, they got engaged in a passionate kiss. Their tongues intertwined.

His hands busy unfastening the strings of her dress.

And yes, after Fanny Natsumi graduated, Tomo Watanabe proposed to her. They got married a year after.

They had a son. His name was given by Fanny Natsumi's grandfather. He was Hiroshi Watanabe.

They moved to Tomo Watanabe's house in Kyoto.

There was love even though they had such age differences.

Tomo Watanabe got a chance to be a researcher. It was his dream. Fanny supported him whole heartedly.

Tomo Watanabe often had to go for weeks for the researching purposes. They had little time together. The time got less each year.

By the time Zehan was born, she got depressed. She could no longer control her feelings and she quarreled with Tomo Watanabe each time he got home.

She felt like she was the only one who was holding up their relationship. But why was she?

She felt that Tomo Watanabe had no time for her. He had become a zombie…working and working. A person who put work before family…

She wanted to break free from this kind of life.

She could not because of her sons. She thought it was her fate.

But she really could not take it anymore. She asked for a divorce.

Tomo Watanabe stared blankly at Fanny Natsumi and after some moment he said," Alright. If that's what you want."

And thus they separated.

Fanny Natsumi shifted back to Tokyo with her sons. She took over the charge of the restaurant left to her by her grandfather.

Fanny Natsumi brought a cup of coffee and placed it on the coffee table in front of Tomo Watanabe.

She sat down on the couch opposite, with her arms crossed.

Tomo Watanabe took a slow sip on the cup of coffee. He smiled and put the cup down.

"Thank you. I feel nostalgic." He said.

Fanny Natsumi always served a cup of coffee with salt instead of sugar whenever she was angry with him. It was especially when he returned home after a research trip.

"You must have captured a lot of lovers with that smile of yours after the divorce." Fanny Natsumi said with a bitter smile.

Tomo Watanabe took a little sip of the coffee and said," No. I did not."

Fanny Natsumi chuckled. 'Why do I feel a bit relieved?'

"What about you?" He asked.

"Ohh…Of course I have tried dating. He was two years younger than me." Fanny Natsumi said proudly.

"Nice…" Tomo Watanabe said. He clutched his hands into a fist.

Fanny Natsumi smiled as she saw his expression. She had to admit she still loved teasing this person.

Tomo Watanabe took a long sip of the coffee.

"Why are you even drinking that? Give me; I will make you another coffee."

"It's alright. I like this coffee."

"Are you being sarcastic?"

"No. I am not."

The doorbell rang at that moment.

"I think they have arrived…" Fanny Natsumi rushed towards the front door.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Zehan sat opposite to Tomo Watanabe. He glared straight at his father. While his father, leisurely glanced back at his son.

It was uncomfortable. Kiyoko stood up from the couch and walked inside the kitchen to help Fanny Natsumi.

"The lunch is ready… Come on you two!" Fanny Natsumi shouted.

At the lunch table, Kiyoko could hardly chew her food. The situation was too tense.

Zehan was throwing hostile glare at Tomo Watanabe. On the other hand, Tomo Watanabe was silently eating his lunch.

Her heart palpitated thinking about why Tomo Watanabe was here and what was the thing that he was about to say to Zehan. Is it something about her and Zehan's relationship?

"I can't bear this anymore. Tell me what you want to say!" Zehan said.

"Well then! Are you really in a relationship with Kiyoko?" Tomo Watanabe asked.

"Yes. And we are getting married." Zehan said.

"Oh god…" Fanny Natsumi yelped in excitement.

"Have you two really thought it over among yourselves? Keep in mind both of you are still…" Tomo Watanabe continued.

Zehan interrupted him," I don't think there is any right for you to say in our matter…"

"Zehan…" Fanny Natsumi shouted at him. "Quickly apologize to him. How can talk to your father like this?"

"Well, he did forget he was my father all these years…" Zehan stood up and left the dining room.

"I didn't know my youngest son was such a rowdy one." Tomo Watanabe smiled.

"Kiyoko, I am never against you two's relationship in any way. It's just that when your father said it to me I was shocked and I wanted to confirm it myself. I went to Kyoto that's when I heard it."

"Ohh…is father still angry?"

"Yes. I can't deny that."

"Aunty, I am going upstairs to see Zehan…" Kiyoko bowed towards Tomo Watanabe and slowly stood up from her chair.

After Kiyoko had left, Fanny Natsumi said," So, when are you leaving for work?"

"Three months later."

"That's surprising. In those days you never had more than a week free."

"Yes. It was tough."

"How was it tough? I thought you enjoyed it a lot."

Tomo Watanabe remained silent for some moment and then said.

"Never... I was miles far away from my wife who had to take care of two small boys. I had to wait till my break time to travel to the city to call my family as the workplace did not have any signal. How can I enjoy it?"

They silently stared at each other.

"I should take my leave now. Sorry for the disturbance." Tomo Watanabe smiled.

Fanny Natsumi slowly stood up from the chair.

"I will pack some side dishes for you. Wait a bit." She said and entered the kitchen.
