Jian woke up trembling in that dark room. His teeth chattered loudly as he tightly hugged himself.
"Someone… anyone, please… please save me. I don't want to be here… I don't want to die again…" Tears rolled down his face, wetting his knees.
"I just want to live. Why is it so hard to just live…?" he sobbed softly, wiping his face with his wrist.
"Huh…"
The stinging pain from his wrist had already disappeared. He quickly unwrapped the bandages. His fingertips gently touched his skin, expecting a deep cut, but to his surprise, he could only feel soft, supple skin.
The ragged cut was gone.
It had disappeared.
Jian blinked.
"Yes… I am not the same weak person who could be tortured and killed. I'm… I'm an alien. I can do things now."
He made a small tug at the chains tying him down. The chain rattled and let out a strained sound.
"I think I can break it." Jian shot up.
The stupid guys had left his hands unbound after taking his blood. He tugged at the chain as hard as he could, putting all his strength into it.
The chain snapped.
The force sent him tumbling to the ground.
Jian hurriedly picked himself up, panting softly. "It worked… I did it. I freed myself." He smirked widely. "I never needed anyone to save me."
Cranking his neck, he leaned toward the door and gently knocked on it.
"I think I can take this opportunity to test my powers." All that fear in his body turned to excitement. He patiently waited.
A pair of footsteps came close. "Did you hear that? I heard knocking from inside."
"Do you think he fainted again?"
"Shit, if he hits his head and loses his damn life, we'll lose it all! Open it!"
Jian's grin widened even more. "Yes, open it." He waited, just inches away from the door.
The moment the door opened fully, the two captors stood frozen in shock, looking at him.
"Hello, my kidnappers. I think it's time for me to fight back."
He quickly punched one of them in the throat with all his strength. The man flew back, hitting the wall comically—it was like one of those Tom and Jerry episodes. The man actually got engraved into the wooden wall.
Looking at his partner, the stocky man froze with his mouth agape.
"Now it's your turn. I can't make you fly, but I can definitely make you feel the pain." He grabbed the man by his hair and dragged him across the ground.
"Ahh! Please, please, it hurts!" The man's desperate hands clawed at him, trying to free himself. He also seemed to be crying and peeing at the same time.
"Oh, just your hair, and you cry? Tsk. I expected more out of you, macho man." Jian kicked his face gently, prolonging the torture. "Does this hurt?"
The man's nose shattered instantly, flattening. "Oh, I think you can take this chance to get a nose job."
"God… please… please… it hurts so much. It hurts."
Jian glared down at him. "Does it now? How do you think I felt when you whacked my head and cut my wrist? It hurt so much." He leaned close to his face. "I don't think you understand. I'll make you feel it."
"AHHHHH!"
Loud screams echoed in the small storehouse.
By the time Jian was done with him, the man had a broken shin, a broken hand, and shattered legs. It would take years, and it wasn't assured whether he could even heal properly.
"You monster… monster…" the man cried, rolling himself up like a burrito.
Jian leaned close with a smile. "I was human, but you provoked the monster inside. You did this to yourself." He cracked his neck and stretched out his arms. "So… tell me, who told you about me?"
The man remained silent.
Jian raised his leg again.
"I'll tell you! I'll tell you! Please…"
"Go on." He gestured for him to continue.
"We… we found out."
"How?" He narrowed his eyes in a glare.
"I saw you at the construction site. You left behind that chunk of gold. We only had a guess… I wanted to confirm it. We followed you and found you in the city."
Jian nodded, wiping his hand with a cloth. "How many know?"
"Just us. Please don't kill us. We will leave. We will never face you again. Please…"
Jian sat down next to him. "But you can tell others. I don't want that…" He reached out for the man's throat.
"Wait, there is someone else. He helped us kidnap you. If… if you don't kill us, I will tell you." The man tremblingly mumbled.
Jian chuckled. "What makes you think you have the upper hand?" He gripped the man's throat.
"It was your brother! Your brother helped us!"
His tight grip loosened. Jian nodded thoughtfully.
"He told us to wait by the school. Your brother got rid of the driver for us. We followed you and waited until you were alone and took you." The man panted. "That's all I know. Please spare us."
Jian blinked up at the ceiling. "Bian Bian… he really likes to mess with me, doesn't he?"
In his last life, that ruthless person drained him of his blood and marrow and even sent someone to assault him. And in this life, he did the exact same thing.
"He's really, really pissing me off…" Jian stood up, pacing around. "Should I just kill him…? No, what if I get caught by the police? That bastard really must have other tricks up his sleeve. Should I break his legs too…?" He gazed at the man. "No, then he would go tell Grandpa…"
Jian clenched his fist. He did not want his grandfather to be disappointed in him.
"I'll deal with him soon… The aliens will come, and then I will take care of him."
"Where is your bathroom?"
