Power of Humans and Infinite

"We have advanced technology and weapons that can easily handle a Tier 3 demon beast. Besides, we won't be the only ones coming to handle this group. The fortress will send a team of highly skilled and experienced adventurers to deal with them. Our role here is just to report and wait for the reinforcement." Joe explained.

Azrid nodded, feeling relieved. He sprayed the area around them with the provided spray, and they both waited in silence for the reinforcements to arrive.

The two hid in the bushes for half an hour, watching the movements of the Ragnaves. In truth, Azrid and Joe could have returned to the fortress, but they wanted to join the clean-up, so they decided to stay there.

Azrid didn't want to let go of this opportunity to drink more from the demon beast. He didn't want to waste his time coming there.

Soon, a huge shadow covered the entire area, and strong winds blew everywhere.

"They're here," Joe said with a smile.

Azrid looked up and saw a giant ship floating in the air.

All the demon beasts in the area were alarmed and couldn't help but growl at the enormous metallic object in the sky. They tried to intimidate the ship by growling simultaneously. Their voices shook the surroundings, but it was futile against the people on the ship. They laughed while looking at the pitiful Ragnaves.

The cannons on the ship slowly aimed at the Ragnaves. In an instant, several light beams shot out from the cannons and landed on the position of the Ragnaves.

Before Azrid could react, a series of explosions erupted in the whole area, and hot winds swept in every direction. The ground vibrated a few times as piles of rocks were thrown everywhere.

Boom! Boom!

"This is...!!" Azrid was dazed.

He finally saw the power of technology personally with his own eyes. In just a few seconds, only a few hundred Ragnaves were left alive. Corpses and body parts were scattered all around. Some of the beasts that were caught in the impact didn't even leave anything behind.

Boom! Boom!

The cannons fired light beams once again.

Thud!

Azrid turned his head to the side. A severed arm of the beast landed beside him. The arm was toasted, and it was still emitting white smoke.

The demon beasts that survived roared at the giant ship with sadness in their tone. They were massacred, and they didn't even have the strength to fight back.

A group of heavily armed adventurers got off. They were all wearing advanced armor and weapons, and they looked like they were ready for a serious battle.

"Good job, you two. You did well to report this. Now, leave the rest to us," the leader of the team said to Joe and Azrid.

They both nodded and stepped back, watching as the team of adventurers moved out to engage the demon beasts. Azrid couldn't help but feel a sense of awe and admiration for the skilled adventurers. He knew that he had a long way to go before he could reach their level.

"Let's go," Joe said as he brandished his weapon.

"Where?" Azrid asked.

"Of course, to slaughter the remaining ones," Joe said before he charged forward.

The cannons had disintegrated thousands of Ragnaves, destroying even their cores, so the people on the ship had to earn money by personally killing and looting the remaining demon beasts.

The Tier 2 experts rushed forward to fight the heavily injured Tier 3 Ragnave, while the rest of the Tier 2 experts hurriedly killed the remaining demon beasts to take their cores.

Azrid took a deep breath before joining the battle.

...

Huff... Huff...

Azrid fell to the ground and stared at the giant ship. His breathing was heavy, and he was covered in sweat. There were bloodstains all over his body along with a few bruises.

"It's finally over..."

He forced himself into a seated position before he took a severed leg of a demon beast beside him. Azrid didn't hesitate as he placed his mouth on the wound to drink its blood.

He had just finished several Tier 1 Ragnaves. He couldn't get any Tier 2 as the people from the ship charged at those demon beasts. Even the Tier 3 Ragnaves were jumped on by several Tier 2 experts at the same time.

It wasn't even a fight from the beginning. The demon beasts were just chickens that were waiting to be slaughtered. The power of humanity wasn't something anyone could underestimate.

Thousands of demon beasts had died just like that. Absolute slaughter was what had happened today. Azrid wondered if maybe strengthening his body wasn't the right path in a world full of powerful technology. But he had to persevere since there was a chance for him to attain the ranks of those sages.

The experts packed up all the loot from the battle. Azrid drank more blood, and he didn't waste any more time.

Joe approached him and asked, "What are you doing? You are drinking demon beast's blood all the time. We need to move soon."

"I understand," Azrid nodded.

Other demon beasts would arrive in this area soon. The people on the ship wouldn't want to exterminate more demon beasts as they knew that if there were no demon beasts, then the area destroyed by cannons wouldn't revert to greenish land.

Azrid packed some blood that he could drink on his way. Then he and Joe left the area soon after the ship departed. This mission was different from what he had expected. It gave him more insight into the power that he wanted to achieve.

Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 still couldn't overcome technology. He could only get a little piece of information about Tier 4. As for Tier 5 and above, the Union Government limited the information about this power to the public.

Tier 1 had the power of ten unawakened people, while Tier 2 had the power of twenty Tier 1 people. Sometimes, Tier 1 could overcome Tier 2. Why? It was because of status.

Basically, people could advance their tier once their status reached Rank D. But some people limit it and persevere. Raising the status above Rank D was two times harder than raising Rank I to Rank E. Azrid had decided that he wouldn't just simply raise his tier. He would build a solid foundation so that when he reached higher-tier powers, he would have a great advantage.

Azrid thanked Joe before he left. He went back to his apartment and quickly fell asleep. When he woke up, he immediately started his training routine.

He felt like it was the same in his past life. No matter how much a person trained their bodies, one bullet in the head was all it needed to kill them. It was the same this time, although ordinary bullets were useless in higher-tier powers. Ether bullets and cannons could still kill higher-tier powers. The only difference was that there was a chance to overcome it, just like those Tier 5 experts.

Well, Tier 5 was still a mystery to him, but he had a feeling that they were beyond his imagination. Even the rumors said that Tier 5 experts were unhindered. They could survive through the vacuum of space and didn't need the support of technology.

Days passed, and Azrid continued his training. However, the missions he took were simple as hunting demon beasts was a rare task, mostly handled by higher-tier adventurers. The mission he completed earlier was an exception.

If he wanted to hunt demon beasts, he would have to travel to another dimension.

Two months had elapsed since he awakened his memories from his past life, or perhaps, since his soul transmigrated into this body. It did not matter to him right now, as he was focused on gaining power.

Azrid had already consumed all the Super Nutrients he received from Sisi, which resulted in a slower growth rate. However, the demon beast blood helped strengthen his [Great Devil Bodies]. He focused his Super Nutrients on training the routine he learned from [Ouroboros], which was slowly catching up to [Great Devil Bodies].

*Ding!*

[Proficiency increased!!]

[Ouroboros: 1% proficiency]

Azrid was training in the Adventurer Guild's training center when a message popped into his mind. Before he could even read the details, an intense headache assaulted him.

Argh!!

He collapsed on the floor as he held his head with both of his hands. It felt like something was drilling into his brain.

[Your status rank is too low!!]

[You should reach a certain status first before diving into the power of "Infinite"!]

[The power of "Infinite" would crush your body if you continue this path!]

"Hey!! What happened to you?!"

The adventurers approached Azrid. They shook him and asked him what was wrong, but Azrid didn't seem to hear their words of concern. He just screamed at the top of his lungs as blood slowly gushed out of his seven orifices.

"He's bleeding?!"

"Let's bring him to the medical center!!"

The adventurers carried him as they ran towards the medical center. Although they didn't personally know Azrid, they were still familiar with him as he was always in the virtual cabin and training center. They knew that he was a hardworking kid who wanted to become a great adventurer, and they had a good impression of him.

At the medical center, a doctor quickly checked Azrid's condition. The doctor realized that Azrid's ether was rising and going out of control, slowly destroying his innards.

"Ether is going berserk?! It's dangerous as he only awakened a few months ago. I don't think his body is strong enough to withstand it," Joe widened his eyes as he heard the doctor's explanation. "Doc, can we check his status to see if his body can withstand a berserk ether?"

"Yeah, but the bill for using the Status Update Crystal is high," the doctor said.

"Just use it. His parents are nobles. They have money. I'm sure they would want to know the chances of their child surviving this," Joe raised his voice.

The doctor nodded and left the room. After a while, he returned with a Status Update Crystal. They poured a droplet of Azrid's blood onto the crystal plate.

Ohm!

The crystal plate emitted a dim bluish light.

After a few seconds, the light dissipated, and the group looked at the status.

"This...? He just awakened a few months ago! Half a year hasn't even passed yet he already has this kind of rank!"

Joe muttered in disbelief. Then, he sighed as he knew that Azrid had a chance to survive this.

Name: Azrid Brimfield

Status: Tier 1

Strength: H+

Agility: H-

Defense: G

Ether: G-

In just a short amount of time, Azrid raised his Rank I status to Rank H and even reached Rank G.

"This... This is amazing!!"

"He has the potential to reach Tier 4!"

"This kid could rival those geniuses in the central star systems!"

"I'm envious! I've been stuck at Rank E for a year! Nobles are really different! They have the money to buy resources that could increase their growth speed!"

The other adventurers in the room were amazed and envious of Azrid's progress. They knew how difficult it was to raise one's rank, and to achieve such a high rank in such a short time was truly impressive.

Some of them even started to wonder if Azrid could rival the top geniuses in the central star systems. It was clear that Azrid had a bright future ahead of him if he continued to train hard.

However, there were also some who felt a tinge of envy towards Azrid's noble background. They knew that nobles had access to more resources that could increase their growth speed, which made it easier for them to rise in rank.

Despite this, they couldn't deny Azrid's talent and hard work, which were the true reasons for his rapid progress.

The adventurers talked excitedly. In the entire Darten Star System, the strongest human was the governor, a Tier 4 expert. And this kid showed potential that could rival the governor in his younger days.
