CHAPTER 61:
Mitsuko got back a few hours later
"Mitsuko, can you please tell her not to yell anymore," Zara said pitifully
He vanished from the spot instantly
Mitsuko opened her mouth in surprise but ignored him
"I've got my first mission," Jia told Mitsuko
Mitsuko's expression changed instantly
"Is everything okay?" Jia asked
"Nothing is okay. I'm going to be the only one here tomorrow with that thing" Mitsuko ranted
"Is it okay if you come along with me?" Jia asked trying to cheer her up
Mitsuko shook her head in disappointment
"I'm afraid not," Mitsuko said taking a seat
HOURS LATER
Mitsuko was soundly asleep when Jia woke up
Zara was nowhere to be found. Jia wore her armor and jumped out the window
Excitement coursed through her veins. Her heart pumped excitedly
"Calms. " The system whispered
Jia moved at a very fast speed
Heping was a very lively place with little children running around
Using the location given on the information, She got to Schön
Schön was an entire city dedicated to the lord of Heping and his family
The Lord of Heping was one of the nine vassal lords
Schön indeed lived up to its name.
Soldiers guarded the gates of Schön heavily
Jia stared at them for a while
They carried heavy weapons in their hands. They stood tall and mighty
Jia swiftly sped in before they could take notice of her
She masked her energy signature and killed one of the soldiers stealthily
The soldiers were not human or any other known species to Jia
They were gray-skinned humanoid beings
"Lamia. Run!" The system advised
"What's going on?" Jia asked with confusion
"Just do it" The system ordered
After getting a safe distance away, the system started to talk
"You shouldn't have killed it. If you killed one, it would split into two " The system said in exasperation
"Well, how was I supposed to know" Jia replied
The system sighed in frustration
Jia continued to explore the city of Schön before getting to the palace of the lord
It was magnificent and grandiose
It stood tall, pristine, and majestic
A human wall guarded his palace
The lord of Heping stepped out a few seconds later flanked by heavily built soldiers
He wore exquisite clothing and two beauties followed behind him
He had the appearance of a 30-year-old man
A young dark-skinned man that appeared to be his son due to their striking resemblance looked at him indignantly
Jia stood rooted on the spot unaware of what to do.
A woman that looked like Danaerys but had blonde hair was one of the beauties that followed the lord of Heping
"Sansa?" Jia couldn't help but murmur
He gifted the two beauties diamond rings and dismissed them with a cunning wink
"Who says assassination cannot be done with a little theft" The system chipped in
"You" Jia replied tauntingly making the system turn away from her
Suddenly, a certain Lamia started to look in her direction. It was as if it saw her
It started to walk in her direction making her break into a cold sweat
Fortunately, It walked past her without noticing her making Jia sigh in relief
"Lamia's are a very weird species. They're androgynous" The system explained
"I didn't ask you but that sounds interesting," Jia said with a smile
Jia followed slowly behind the Lord of Heping keeping a distance
He seemed to have a reasonably good cultivation level but he didn't have a good foundation
His movements were slurred so he appeared to be drunk
The inside of his palace was inlaid with solid gold. Other precious stones decorated the house generously
He seemed rather rich for a vassal lord
Two hefty men appeared behind him
"Lord, We are about to start the deal," They both said in unison
"Tell Jade to start. I'll be there in a few minutes" The lord ordered and they disappeared
"So basically, there are two things you can do. One is to just do your job asap. The other is to play the hero by finding out what deal he's going for. Choose one" The system motioned
"The first" Jia replied aiming with her mana guns
The bullets hit him and bounced off his skin
The system widened its eyes in surprise
"Body refinement technique," It said in a low tone
"Meaning no physical attack can hurt him. But soul attacks should" Jia said trying to channel the soul eater's skill
Jia spat out a large mouthful of blood
"Who dares" The lord of Heping growled activating an area of effect skill
Jia summoned her divine soul and the skill was nullified
"I'm here to kill you," Jia said coldly
Her expression changed, realizing that she had exposed herself. She facepalmed in regret
He laughed like a maniac
"Oh, You're just a little girl playing house. How about you let daddy teach you" He said winking at her
She stared at him emotionlessly
Taking the divine weapon(scythe), She started to charge it up till it glowed a bright blue
Then she hit him with it on the chest
Grey-colored blood spilled out
He returned to his true form; A tree
Spreading out several creeping branches, It attempted to entangle Jia but Jia kept on chopping them off
They grew back after each cut and Jia was already losing it. It appeared to be a mental effect of the tree
Jia shapeshifted into a firebird and disappeared
She landed on its trunk and started to spit several balls of fire
These fireballs were laced with the corrosive power of the darkness element
The tree started to burn up. The darkness element corroded it slowly as it had a very effective regenerative skill
Its branches started to become shriveled
Shortly after, It disintegrated into ashes and its ashes were dispersed by the wind
Jia then left the notification letter from the dark yin palace
Jia's eyes lit up upon seeing a safe
Upon forcefully cracking open the safe, Jia saw a lot of diamonds and precious stones. Two books lay there
The first one was titled: [Ancient Demonic Book]
The second one didn't have a title but when Jia opened it, It was a diary
It contained many perverted things
She picked up the [Ancient Demonic Book] and the diary
A jar of pills almost half-finished lay there calmly
Jia didn't know what they were so she left them there and disappeared
