CHAPTER 94; THE BEGINNING OF THE END

"Elemental phoenix?" Jia said hesitantly but the phoenix didn't want to talk

" What's up with your wolf? " Jia asked

" I don't know. It just acts weird " Junshi said with a frown

The wolf was Junshi's spirit animal and the elemental phoenix was Jia's spirit animal

The wolf jumped at Jia. She was too frightened to do anything so she just stood there frozen on the spot

The wolf nuzzled its nose against Jia's leg affectionately

Jia was hesitant but she touched the wolf's head with skepticism

The wolf responded to the gesture with a soft growl

Jia stared at the wolf with a frown

" Your wolf is just like you " Jia taunted

" I'm not bipolar, " Junshi said in a low voice

The wolf returned to Junshi's body with a satisfied look

" You've changed, " Junshi said

" Coming from someone who grew two wolf ears out of nowhere " Jia retorted

" Yep. Still got that sharp mouth of yours " Junshi said with a smirk

Jia felt a stinging pain on her arm and turned to look at it. The elemental phoenix was ' drawing ' something on her arm with its sharp claws

Blood dripped out of the ' drawing ' and the phoenix looked like a professional artist

" What the hell are you doing? " Jia questioned

The elemental phoenix didn't say a word till it finished. It stared proudly at its work

" Just a little marking, " The phoenix said in a sweet voice

It drew itself with fully stretched-out wings

" What do you think? " The phoenix asked like a little child

" It's ...whatever. " Jia said rolling her eyes

The phoenix drew a long line across Jia's face with indignation and disappeared

Blood seeped out of the line

Jia sighed in frustration

" Fussy phoenix" Jia muttered

She thought the wound would heal itself and the scar would vanish but the scar didn't vanish

"I've successfully turned into a horror character," Jia said sarcastically

" I know right? A very beautiful one " Junshi murmured

" Whatever. Scar or no scar, you're awesome " Junshi continued

"Really? Why didn't you want to accompany the divine lords?" Jia asked

" How would I? They probably wouldn't let you come along with me. How can I survive without you? I'd probably fall sick of the lack of sarcasm. Your sharp mouth offers the perfect dose " Junshi said dramatically

Jia broke into a smile

" I'd probably just ditch you " Jia murmured

" Whatever...I know you can't " Junshi said with a soft smile

Jia picked a katana and started to practice elemental strikes

" Get out of the way. You don't want to get quartered, do you? " Jia said drawing her katana

"Getting quartered by you is a lifelong dream," Junshi said sticking his tongue out

" Whatever, wolf. Don't blame me " Jia said with a shrug

Propelling herself up at a fast speed, she descended with the same speed and stabbed her katana into the ground

Several, dangerous blue sparks emerged from the katana. Surprisingly, Junshi was not affected. A semi-transparent shield covered him

The sparks died down minutes later

" Don't tell me you can't get killed " Jia said flipping the katana in a nonchalant manner

" I didn't say that. I've not attained the immortal level. Well, yet...Even immortals can get killed " Junshi said

Jia thought for a long time

" Is chaos king an immortal? " Jia asked with wide eyes

" A little higher than that " Junshi replied

" Immortals can get killed? what are you talking about? " Jia questioned

" Let me just say that immortal is not the highest level " Junshi replied

" Whatever...Let's go " Jia said with a shrug

" Right... I almost forgot you know? " Junshi replied

" You wouldn't dare," Jia said in a cold whisper

" Where exactly are we going? " Jia continued

" To find something, " Junshi said

" Elemental phoenix, do you sense anything strange, maybe different, " Jia asked the phoenix

" Energy," The phoenix said in excitement

" Energy? What kind of energy would make you this excited? " Jia asked

The phoenix stared blankly at her and sighed

" Fine. Where's the energy " Jia asked

" You think it's that easy to find? whatever, " The phoenix said partially possessing Jia

Her senses became heightened

" The energy is not far away? " Jia questioned
