A Normal Night, Maybe?

“Hey family, hunny can you grab the rest of the gear out of the car for me please.” She asked, he looked up at her smiling broadly, “Sure thing beautiful.” He said as he walked up to give her a kiss and slapped her bum hard as he walks past her chuckling, “Mmm, arghh hey! That’s not funny mister!” She yelled out to him, which caused him to laugh harder. “Girl’s day hey?” She asked when finally noticed what we had been doing, “Yes.” We both said, “Ok I’ll leave you two at it, I’ll start dinner. Did you guys get anything when you were up at the shops or was it just junk food?” Mum asked, “Cannot have a movie marathon without our traditional junk food! Although Brissy doesn’t stock everything, or we just couldn’t find it.” I said, “Well you’re eating a healthy dinner! No more junk food for the day girls.” Mum snapped at us.

“No worries mum, this is all we got. Not much this time.” Charlotte told him, “More like not much left!” I yelled out “Nope Katy, I ate some of the junk too, not just the girls. I am sure whatever is left Alex will have.” Dad said, “Yes the rest is his!” I yelled out to her, “The rest is who’s? Oh, girl’s day! Hell yeah, I get the leftovers! Hand them over Charlie Bear!” Alex yells out, “Sure.” Charlotte said Alex jumps onto the couch next to us and continues watching Miss Marvel and eating junk. We started it back at the start for Dad and Alex, mum cooked away in the kitchen humming Fleetwood Mac songs. She is happy when she does that, our dad had a big grin on his face listening to our mum humming.

Dinner has been and gone, and everyone has had their showers, I also ran my ideas with dad of what type of formats I am keen on doing and if he wants to do them in his business, some he is and others only if the clients want to. Mum was already in bed as she starts earlier than the rest of us. I had gone downstairs to do some work but Alex is watching that horror movie so I bought my computer up stirs, dad was watching the NRL he was yelling at the TV as normal. Charlotte was reading a book in the egg chair, and I get comfortable in the outdoor lounge. An hour later Charlie has gone to bed, had a feeling someone was watching me I look up from my computer and it was Dimitri looking at me, looking hot as hell again, I smile and wave at him, he smiles back and waved at me.

“Spying on the neighbours again I see.” I yelled back out to him, “Only on the very hot blonde one.” He said I smirked at him, “And who would that be?” I asked as it could be my mum or sister too, “You my beautiful lady, you.” He said I couldn’t help but blush hard right now, “Ahh thanks.” I said, “Come over.” He asked, “Realy it’s nine-thirty at night that’s a booty call mate.” I told him, “Thought that is what you wanted?” he asked lost, “Hmmm you really need to work for it, mister.” I told him, “I got to work for it?” He asked, with a playful smirk on his face, “Oh yes, yes you do.” I told him, and he walked down his back stairs and walked up to the fence looking up at him, “Come down here and I will for it.” He called out to me, “Hmm I should say no.” I said, “Please, don’t.” He begged, “Ok.” I replied, making my way down to where he is at, “So how are you going to work this, through a wooden fence?” I asked, I heard him chuckling softly, what I hadn’t noticed was he had a guitar in his hands, and then he started singing. The song I knew it off by heart was my favourite song growing up, ‘Baby I’ve got you, on my mind’ by Powderfinger.

“Baby I got you on y mind, Honey, you won’t ever how How much I need you by my side. I promise you won’t ever go I won’t take no from you this time. ’Cause baby I got you on my mind. Honey, I got to show, just what I can do, because I think I know, what you’re going through. I hope you feel it the way I feel it, I hope you feel it the way I feel it too. Yeah, I feel it too, so if I had this all my way, honey, you won’t ever know, I’ll be there through every night and day, promise you won’t ever go. I won’t hold back from you this time, ’Cause baby I got you on my mind. Yeah, honey, I got to show, just what I can do, because I think I know, what you’re going through. ’Cause baby I’ve got you on my mind I won’t take no from you this time. How much I need you by my side. Babe, I got you on my mind, yeah, yeah, on my mind. I tell ya, I won’t wait for another day. My heart died, baby, lose the chains, I won’t wait for another day, my heart died when you lose the chains, ’Cause honey, I got you, I got you on my mind. Yeah, honey, I got you,, I got you on my mind. Yeah, honey, I got you, I got you on my mind, I got you, I got you on my mind, yeah honey, I got to show.” He finished singing think I may be getting feelings for this man more now.

“Oh wow, how did you know I love Powderfinger and that I love this song?” I asked lost, he starts laughing, “You have a photo of you and your family with Powderfinger in your bedroom, I also love them and that song too.” He said, “Oh wow I had forgotten about that photo.” I said, “Did I work enough for your time tonight Rhiannon?” He asked, I smiled at him, “Yes, yes you have, just give me a few minutes to put my work gear back into my room.” I told him, “Ok.” He said sounding so happy. I walked back up to the back stairs, and up onto the patio and froze, both my dad and brother are standing on the patio one looked happy and the other looked pissed off, fuck what have I done now.
