We are not so different

Felipe continued to drink as he completely deviated from conflict with France to exports and imports. Farmland in the USA was being converted into plantations nonstop. Plus, he did want to formally agree on exporting cotton from the USA to the Empire without much taxes and then bring luxury items at lower taxes than usual.

Alcohol ran high in their veins as the day finally ended. They had a good laugh at things when they would forget their politics. Felipe made sure to make the president laugh enough to where he would not have anything to say.

He talked about stories that happened to his previous self, obviously changing the details to fit the whole narrative that he is from the beginning of the 20th century.

He looked at the milky way in the clear sky and just began to wonder what would be of his life. He has made it to be a crown prince, has made his father an emperor and made significant social changes which, by his thoughts, even if he dies and his father dies, would let the states on which they were implemented improve economically beyond any other country in such time.

"This would be heaven… but the fucking bugs are everywhere… I should have been more grateful for all the cars killing them." Felipe chuckled as he looked at the mosquitos trying to pass through the window's glass.

He realized that he didn't care about the lack of internet or just plain electricity; that was one of his biggest fear when he reincarnated, that he would go crazy for not having internet. Yet, he has really shed off that mentality, he was now enjoying things, but his enjoyment mainly was categorized by playing Sk*lines in real life with the power of a king.

Fuck grid-line cities and make 15-minute cities, fuck their cars and build the setup for a stupid large metro and tram railways. He has spent too much time wasted in car commuting; he was really annoyed by them. He plans to make all that oil of Venezuela fuel the progress of large infrastructure projects and let all the other countries get fucked with their highways and polluted cities.

Knowing he could do a way better job of making a city work excited him for what was to come.

But he was already thinking about his death in a place where he could quickly die from a bruise getting infected; he felt like it would be a sacrilege that the knowledge he got in his mind was to be lost and change nothing.

But the constant assassination attempts and straight-out small battles against him changed him completely. He has won most of them and begins to realize the weight of power and likes it.

He liked the stress of being part of the most considerable race, the economic/power game. The country that has more of it wins, and they have to maintain it. In other words, a constant struggle for supremacy.

And while everyone was not looking at the backwater countries of the USA and South America, they were slowly growing under their noses. Both Massive countries were of concern; after all, both had pushed 2 massive powers to the brink of bankruptcy in a costly war of independence.

They have also become costly to fuck with. For once, the USA has become financially independent and showed the ability to make anyone that tries to fuck with them regret said decision. Meanwhile, the Colombian Empire has shown to be too expensive to attack as they have expanded their military to the point they can take over so much fucking land.

Felipe has also shown to be a great leader; even their own citizens knew that the ones making the decisions of the Empire was the Crown Prince and not the current emperor, yet they were glad as it showed stability; if the emperor were to die, nothing would change.

The USA sees the Colombian Empire equal as they compare their independence and so do other European countries. In other words, they have shown that they can't be messed with, but they were just too damn far away for the European powers to give a damn.

More than anything, they were worried about one another and how many ships one power would build and how many soldiers the other would have armed. While they keep trying to figure out whose cock is bigger, they will be growing, and they will be expanding the same way they would in later years.

Felipe smiled as he closed his window curtains, plunging his room into complete darkness.

Next day.

Felipe was dressed in very formal attire, and when he left his room, he first saw servants of the white house holding a selection of wigs.

"… I don't care how formal wigs are; I would rather lose my head than put one of those things." He quickly passed by and groaned. Felipe didn't know it then, but such a quote would be passed on the books of history as quite famous.

Usually, when there are state visits, the member of the foreign nation visiting would stay in a hotel, yet, The Colombian Empire and the USA were rather known, and it was like a new couple that had yet to understand how they should act when they are together in public.

But he arrived at an empty table with breakfast already served; it was still hot, evidently by the steam coming from it. He did not wait for anyone or anything as he ate without any reserve. He was at the climax of his mission to the USA, creating strong bonds between the two countries.

He has dealt with the future of his prospects in South Carolina and has created a path for his CEO to follow. He was very confident in his abilities of Quincy, and he felt satisfied letting him do as he saw fit with his money and relaxed about it.

The only thing that was somewhat in the air was the steel mill in New York. He would make that a sewing machine factory, yet he needed more confidence. He would instead let the product develop before anything else.

He let the steel mill create the heavy machinery needed to produce steel mills and manufacturing machines. That was different in the UK as if the deal he proposed a few weeks ago were a reality; he would have to produce textile products and might as well create sewing machines there.

By the time he arrived at the entrance of the white house, he saw the carriage already out waiting for him. The president was not there, and nor was anyone of importance.

"Oh, your majesty. You are already ready. Excuse me, I was finishing last-minute changes to my speech." He said as he showed the signs of a hangover.

"Aye, it does not matter. I did not wait much. Plus, the lawn has been very well made, a pleasure for my eyes. Especially knowing the guy tried to kill me helped make it, and now he is dead." Felipe said as he began to chuckle at the end of his sentence, making the president laugh.

It was only a short time before the vice president arrived.

"Gentlemen, I am afraid we are a bit late." Felipe chuckled as it was already 11 am.

"I believe that not a single senator is currently present." The Vice president laughed it off.

"Indeed, hellish hours to speak in an address to Congress." Felipe chuckled as he looked ready to crack another joke but restrained himself.

"Well, it was indeed quite a rush thing." The vice president was in defense, "Plus, let's remember the very significance of such an act. This is indeed a historic moment for both nations… time is basically irrelevant."

"Well said."

Felipe didn't waste more time and just entered the carriage before waving his hand to the ladies at the entrance trying to get a glimpse of him. Cookers and even the first lady didn't go with them as it was a matter of politics, meaning only men were allowed.

He enjoyed the ride as they went through the main entrance, and people back surrounded them that soldiers were shielding, American soldiers. A lot of people were actually shouting at him in the wrong way.

"No Prince Allowed."

Felipe remained calm as other protestors were happy to see his face at least once; after all, he was an imperial prince.

"Don't mind them; their brains can not understand the levels of importance of your majesty's address to Congress," Adams said as he tried to give Felipe some piece of calm.

"I never minded." He remembered the first years they arrived in their now Empire. The people were not really interested in replacing one tyrant with another.

"Despite my country being an empire, you would be surprised how free a person is in my country. After all, everyone is born free. That includes mind and body... we are not so different."
