"Let's start."
Mort said in a commanding tone when he get in front of them. He looks so cool yet indifferently cold.
"What about this weird specie?" At the same time, Klauss abhorrently pointed out Sumire who has just stumbled upon what Klauss said. 'This snow-haired freak, hmph!', she glared at him, lips firmly closed.
"She can stay and wait on the sofa." Mort simply replied and looked at Sumire who remain staring madly at his secretary, pouting her lips.
"But Boss, this is an important matter. No outsider shouldn't hear this."
Klauss strongly defied and persuaded his Boss. Sumire went to the sofa and sat there. She continuously openly mocked and stick a tongue out at him like a kid making Klauss flustered in annoyance.
"But she's inside."
Mort sarcastically answered but his face remained expressionless.
Klauss can do nothing but narrowed his eyes and flared his nostrils at her but Sumire countered him with a triumphant smirk, arms crossed on her chest and legs crossed. She leaned against the sofa, sitting in a bossy posture.
Klauss faked a cough to get his Boss's attention. "Okay, I'll start," he once looked at Mort who was still staring at the maiden. Klauss frowned again. "I have no idea how Mischa negotiate and convinced the owner of the Viccini auction house even though she was a minor, to accept the painting and auction it on the second week of the month."
Klauss reported that now he has caught the attention of his Boss. Mort turn to him, listening, and was quiet as if thinking.
"Have you talked to the owner of the auction house? Mort asked with a very serious look.
"Yes, but they didn't disclose what they have talked about with Mischa even if I mention your name."
Klauss answered. A deafening silence reigned between them. This is a serious matter and needs to be taken seriously. The two of them both fell into thought and calculated the situation. But a few seconds later, Mort spoke.
"What can you say in this situation?" Mort asked.
"It's definitely a trap." Klauss quickly replied that he rubbed his chin gently.
"Do you have a clue who the auctioneer is?" Mort asked for the second time that the secretary had turned his attention to his Boss.
"It's Narco."
Klauss responded and slightly bowed his head after him.
"Who died and made him the auctioneer?"
Mort's question was meant for a joke but Klauss took it seriously and answered him.
"Don Duncan, 56 years old. Married. Six-foot and weighs 198.4 lb. Blood type: O. No sign of illness. Cause of death: Car accident. All his organs are already sent to your hospital."
"Ah, a clean death," Mort muttered in a gruff voice and inhaled, a proud smirk emerge on his face. "I raised him well."
Klauss frowned when he remembered how Narco had annoyed him to death. Klauss was having a hard time dealing with Narco back then when he was 8 years old. Mort and Klauss raised him together. 'That little rascal.....Boss really raised a monster', he muttered.
"Yeah, you raised him very well." There was a streak of sarcasm in Klauss's voice and he even rolled his eyes. When Mort let out a deep sigh, the secretary immediately asked.
"So, are you going to the auction?" Klauss quickly swerve the subject.
"Definitely."
Mort said and walked towards the bar counter, getting a wine and a glass to drink before going to the tinted glass wall of his office where he could see the heart of Brethren City. His right hand was thrust into his pocket and his left hand held and swirl the glass of red wine.
Klauss immediately wrote down on the secretary's record book the schedule of his Boss going at the Viccini Auction House.
"After 10 years have passed, the five deeds of sale have created noise in the Underground."
Klauss said after writing down the schedule. The hunk man was stopped and gripped the glass tightly which cracked. Jaws clenched while eyes seriously darted on the horizon. The five deeds of sale are the most valuable treasure that can trigger a war in the Mafia world. All the Mafia Lords are willing to go to war just to have a piece of that treasure that worth wealth and sumptuous fortune.
"Where did you hear it?" Mort asked. No traces of emotion can be heard in his voice.
"MDA Grand casino."
Klauss directly replied without beating the bush. Mort preceded to ask.
"Who started it?"
"I have no idea."
Mort turned behind him and look at Klauss with a darkened face. He spoke in an ominous tone. "Investigate it right now, I need the result as soon as possible."
Mort ended the conversation. Klauss would have agreed with him when he remembered his Boss's schedules piled up.
"But Boss, you have a series of important business meetings and conferences these coming days. You will need my assistance."
By then, Klauss showed the business records, the gatherings written on the book and he scanned the inside of it in front of his Boss, but to his dismay, Mort wasn't paying attention to him. His Boss was gazing up at the maiden who was now soundly sleeping on the sofa, remained seated and unaware of what they were talking about.
His blood starts to boil in ager again!
"Wow, she can surely sleep soundly everywhere huh," Klauss sarcastically said while eyeing the maiden looking so innocent and innocuous. "She really has the brass neck to sleep in front of the most feared man in the Underground. Is she unemployed?" Klauss added and scoffs.
"I know you are not inclined and had no interest in the entertainment industry but it is YOUR obligation to know that I have invested in an entertainment company where 75% of that company's fortune comes from her."
Mort's phlegmatic response still looking at the sleeping beauty. She spoke in a murmur as if she was talking to someone in her dream. Sumire smiled so sweetly even though her eyes were tightly closed. Mort slightly frowned.
Klauss seemed deaf to what he heard and unbelievably looked at his Boss. "You can't be serious." and looked at the maiden again incredulously. 'Seriously? This nearly extinct specie?'
"It's up to you."
Moet simply said. Klauss didn't want to believe what he just found out but the truth came from his Boss. So he no longer questions the maiden's job, though her personality and intention are worth questioning. Klauss still unconvinced if this 'first primate ape' he recently discovered were worthy to be trusted and let her be with his Boss.
"I will deal with it later. For now, let's make her your temporary assistant."
Klauss finally uttered that Mort looked at him.
"I thought you hated her," Mort said as Klauss didn't answer him and stepped onto the maiden's occupied sofa. Klauss was about to unleash his famous attack using his disinfectant and would have sprayed the sleeping beast to wake her up when Mort suddenly spoke.
"Fix that bad habit of yours."
Klauss' hand is left hanging in the air. It wasn’t a warning but that voice sounded like danger.
Mort approached Sumire's seat with heavy footsteps. Klauss quickly stepped back and stand behind him.
"Sumire..." Mort gently calls out her name but he didn't get a response from the maiden.
When Sumire's head was tilted on the side along with her tiny body frame and was about to fall on her seat, Mort quickly caught the maiden. Her head landed on his bullish manly left palm that looked able to crush a larynx without any effort at all. He has a thick wrist and veins more prominent.
Klauss gasped when the maiden comfortably snuggled and rubbed her head against Mort's palm and was still sound asleep.
"Boss, you are one percent human. Lately, you have been letting this woman mess around you. Are you sure she is an actress? Look at her decency."
Klauss blurted out loud while pointed the maiden.
"Boss, you're BIG."
Sumire suddenly unconsciously uttered, eyes were firmly closed, biting her lower lip, grin and seemingly hurt draw on her face. Klauss blushed hard and brush his hand on his face. He was the one who felt ashamed of what the maiden muttered.
"This flirty Phoenicopterus," Klauss said out loud that Sumire's eyes gradually and slowly opened due to the clamor around her.
Two handsome faces greeted her. The pair of emerald-green eyes were just staring at her intently while a pair of arctic blue eyes piercingly darted on her that could penetrate her body and soul.
Her eyes rolled to the right side only to find out her head is resting on a big palm. Sumire quickly sat up straight and wiped off the speck of saliva on the side of her lip which caused Klauss to shiver on his feet. 'Disgusting!' he cried out.
His mind was now invaded with dark thoughts of bacteria and viruses. Just the sight of Sumire swiping off the speck of her drool which surely swarmed with the bacteria and it stuck to Mort's hand. Now, he is worried sick for his Boss.
Mort, on the other hand, stared deeply at her. A smirk condensed on his lips.
"Tell me about this BIG."
