Rriel's Point of view
I watch Opal sleep. She looks so beautiful. I place the necklace under the pillow.
Getting out of bed, I plan on seeing my father. I can't get Emmy's screams out of my head. They are haunting me. They eat at my soul. I still love her, even if she killed Opal. I love Opal more. That was Emmy's consequence. She needed to answer for her actions, but I feel like a jerk.
Even if I could have found another way and saved Emmy. She could try to hurt Opal again. Opal will always come first to me. She is my heartbeat. She is my whole world.
In moments, I face my father in the ballroom. He was eating some kelp.
"Good morning," my dad grins.
"How are you so happy? Do you have any guilt about Emmy?"
"I did, but I removed the memories," he explains.
"I need the same, and I came here to ask."
"I was waiting for you to ask," he says.
"Do you think I was too harsh?"
"I told you how I feel. Taking anyone else's life would be injustice," he says.
"I know."
