Know thy enemy, part 3

After a minute of thinking, Cael shook his head.

"I don't think so. I think they use wordless magic. They are underwater! Maybe they converse with only gestures, do you think?" he turned towards Niko.

The diviner closed his eyes with a slightly pained expression. "Under the sea, every fish can hear your scream. The noises never stop. The cacophony… A thousand voices from a thousand directions." He exhaled noisily. "Thank gods that only fishes can hear them, too."

Cael glanced at Niko's cup, empty. "I think you should go to sleep, Niko. You need to rest."

Tarek carefully took the cup out of Niko's hands and pulled the mage by his shoulders. "Cael is right. We all need to rest, in fact. Then we can try finding that mermaid lover tomorrow. And if we see any merfolk, we can try to talk with them in Arcani. As long as we won't blow up anything by accident."

Everyone agreed.
