Act I: The bonds of blood | Into the Vampire Courts

The short-term plans were the most straightforward part of the discussions that lasted for the next several days. The Prime Minister resolved most of it by himself already.

The Foundation Games, in all the leagues: Bronze, Silver and Golden, were all canceled. Instead, the participating mages were directly offered jobs in the new army gathered by the Prime Minister.

Even the Soul Smith, although the Archbishop frowned on that decision.

After this, diplomats were sent to the nearby countries to watch them and to smoothen public relations. This, too, was very straightforward.

Things went harder with the long-term plans.

Mages needed knowledge to train. Teachers, books, spells. Knowledge could be shared infinitely, except—no one wanted to share it so freely. After all, one's spells were a part of their legacy. Why should they give them out to people who will compete with their descendants later?
