Cael knew at this point that his mission in the Mattoni Empire was coming to an end. It was only a matter of time until the Void stabilized his empire again, and the agreement about peace between him and Cael was still in place as far as Cael was aware.
Though Cael doubted the dragon would think about war now. In the near future, the Mattoni Empire had to spend money not on the army and creating new ejderha instead of killed ones, but on food.
Cael only needed to finalize all agreements and finish some business.
The first of which were Dante's possessions.
The mage had servants and followers—ordinary people. Cael visited his palace and found that he had no students, though—he found no one talented enough to become one. As for personal assistants, they all were killed by the Void's orders, since they were magically modified creatures.
Thus, Dante's palace was confiscated by government officials.
