Intermission: Enemy within, part 2 | EW. Ever vigilant

KINGDOM OF THE BEAR

"Do you think the assassins have lost us by now, signore Santangelo? It's been two days since we set out on our way, and we weren't attacked yet."

Even in a shoddy road inn, where the light was dim, and the air stunk terribly of cooked onions, raw garlic and unwashed socks, Irmilla sat like she was at a dinner party with nobles and royals.

Although maybe she avoided putting her elbows on the tabletop because of the layer of grime on it.

Still, she ate her stew in small, dainty bites. Somehow, Irmilla made even the act of drinking water from a large clay mug—the only bearable choice of drink here—appear elegant.

The only visitors besides Arca's group was a group of farmers in the corner of the main hall. They were already setting to sleep on the wooden benches, clearly not the kind to afford a room upstairs.
