EW. Silent wind

A SHORT TIME EARLIER

The woman's footsteps were absolutely silent as she walked up the stairs. Not a single creak of wood came from under her feet, not a rustle of clothing, not even the sound of her heartbeat.

In left hand, Aria Ancora held a spare key she stole—rather easily—from the innkeeper. In another, she held a stiletto dagger. A cloak was hiding most of her features, but it couldn't hide her impressive height or the paleness of her skin.

The pendant attached to Aria's belt swayed slightly with her movements. The ingenious device hid Aria's aura and her magic better than she ever could herself.

Aria didn't hesitate as she walked through the hallway. She knew the room she needed and knew how things would go.

Silently. Beautifully. She would make it so.
