Narration By Maya Mayers
The mountains covered the fair skies, we walked through the Eden Forest, a lot of bushes covered our paths; the grasses were too thick to allow free movement of our horses and cart. We had to drag our feet from the ground below to upstream where the sun settled on Samora hill.
“We need to rest; my feet are tired,” Ray said.
“We still have a long way to go before we can rest
“We still have a long way to go before we can rest. The forest is too dangerous at night we need to find a cave in the hills. Sirius said.
“It been almost a month since we left the island, no one said anything about long walks” Ray argued.
“We have not even started the journey yet. On your feet!” Ray had already placed down his carved basket and was sitting on a wooden log.
Soon Seven and Magnes joined fatty in resting leaving Marcus and Cadie to drive the cart. Cadie is still angry Sirius dragged her into the mission, the Samania, is now known to be a dead zone and as a surviving member, she would have preferred to avoid the place entirely. Marcus and Cadie dropped the cart.
“Everyone should get up, it is almost dark” Sirius began to grumble.
“Captain let’s rest a bit we have been walking from throughout the entire morning.”
“I have found the cave!” I jumped down from the top trees. “Where is it located” Sirius turned serious.
“It is on the hill like you said. We need to walk further down into the tombs of the old and climb the hill before we can get into the cave.” I said grinning.
“Well, is it not Miss Stamina, why don’t you carry the cart if you do have a lot of energy left” Cardie threw a dark shot into my eyes.
“My, my you want to cry like a baby” I retorted.
“Enough, do you hear that?” Magnes said.
“It sounds like moving horses, they are closing in on us,” Cadie said.
“We need to move, how long before they catch up to us,” Sirius asked.
“By the rise of the sun should they not rest” Cadie answered.
“Let go, Fatty stand on your feet”
We walked through the Eden Forest, using the narrow path as possible to avoid being seen. The forest is widely covered with grass and tall trees. We got to a valley that descended into the Tomb. The entire place was dry with no plants growing in the area.
“I heard from the old stories there are lost relics in the tombs. This place is dark and cold” Said Magnes.
“Maya, give us light” Sirius ordered.
“Incanto” a light formed in my two index fingers when I placed them together. The cemetery was filled with spooky noises. The sunset and darkness fell through the entire forest the only light shining through the road was the one on my index finger.
“Everyone on alert,” Sirius said.
The statues of warriors petrified all around the tombs had their eyes glowing.
“Sir, are they moving in our direction.” Fatty sounded scared.
A huge hammer smashed into the stony warrior trying to stab Fatty. Magnes blew ice onto the stony warriors.
“They are fast”
“Way too fast” Cadie screamed at the top of her voice blowing three of the stony warriors.
“Did we trigger a trap?” Seven asked. Blowing wind into the direction of a vast number of stony warriors. He then added lighting to the wind blowing as many of them as possible. “Cover your nose people, it’s poisonous smoke” Magnes shouted.
After destroying all the stony warriors in our path, we relaxed too soon; a spear was thrown into the chest of fatty. Blood gushed out of him, he smashed into the ground.
“Fatty, fatty” I quickly run to his side.
“Help, my bag my bag, my tools are in my bag.” Ray kept saying.
The ground began to shake vigorously, huge rocks began rolling from the top of the valley into the ground where we were. Seven and Sirius joined hands causing the ground to shake exploding the oncoming huge rocks. The Huge rocks kept rolling out of nowhere this time bigger and faster. After exploring the rock three times, they were very tired. It seems whoever was controlling the stones was not as stony chariots appeared from nowhere shooting arrows. I stood and formed a magnetic field that repelled the arrows from reaching us.
Fatty lay on the ground struggling, he used the healing gem to close the wound, and Magnes gave him a portion that subsided the pain but the poison inside the spear needed to be treated. Sirius and seven rushed on to the oncoming chariots. Seven shooting crystal ice arrows to blow the stones. The smoke slowly filled the entire place making it hard to breathe.
“Sirius, Sirius” we called him as we lost him in the smoke.
The five of us gathered around each other, I formed a magnetic globe around us shielding us from the attacks.
“If we were two I could have teleported us out of here, I can not teleport everyone.” Seven said.
“Then take fatty away, he is the one who needs help most,” I said.
“But where will you go, can you teleport to an unknown place,” Cadie asked.
“I have to try something” Seven.
Magnes who was busily shaking some portions from his bag was attending to his wound of Ray. He gave him a green leaf, which increased his energy. He made him drink a concoction he mixed with from his bottles. The big bubbles which were forming around his skin began to heal.
“It seems the potion is working,” Fatty said.
“I hope so because we still need the cure.” Magnes sounded worried.
Eddrick came out of the blue, with his big eyes and was staring at me. After giving me a few pointers on how to use the sword, he disappeared on the day I set off for the journey.
“You are not using the swords, princess,” he said lazily not seeing the struggle we are in.
“What is it going to do, they are stones,” I asked laughingly.
“This is the Cemetery of the old ancient Desert warriors. They were mostly traveling from one place to another in search of green pastures to build a better kingdom. Until the witch cursed them splitting them apart. The stone warriors are guards to the tomb of their king.”
Eddrick disappeared into the silver Stoney tomb which was raised magnificently. “Raise the swords,” he said.
I draw the sword from my back, and silver light shines through the tomb. The moving chariots stop, and so do the landslides. The foggy smoke dissipates and captain Sirius is seen in the middle of four huge warriors. The stony warriors are opening the way for us and a large cry resonates throughout the cemetery. Eddrick was lying comfortably on the tomb; we moved closer and I saw the name to be Sir Cedric Alden.
“It’s the Grand Marshall’s tomb,” Sirius said.
“You see I told you, you are the successor,” Cadie said happily.
“The ground is opening everyone should watch out,” Magnes and seven said simultaneously
“See there is a door beneath the tomb, I think we are being invited in.”
“This place is filled with scrolls and books,” said Magnes.
“I’m going to need time to help Ray with his wound” Magnes prompted us to the wounded man.
The fascinating sculptures caught everyone’s attention in the great nomadic nation. The place was filled with the brightest boat drawn on the walls. The journey of the Normadians before arriving in Eden forest. I felt the sea water coming to life in me whenever I touched a picture 0f a boat moving in the waterfall. The wind blew with continuous thunder. The silver crown was wearing a woman covered in clothing resembling a crow. She sat with the Grand Marshall in the biggest boat, the two seemed happy together, the journey was going well as the birds guided the destiny of the Normadians. The dark cloud arose covering the bright skies; in one of the pictures Sir Cedric was fighting with a man in the shadows, and the witch was enchanting a spell keeping the light brightly in the skies. The people surrounding her are doctors trying to deliver the screaming woman from the pain of labour. The child finally came out but the guards battling the shadow broke the light keeping the shadow out of the room. Soon an army of devils flock through the city, the shadow gains more strength to battle the man, and his people run behind to stab him, making him very weak allowing the shadow to intervene. A huge lion beast was battling a demi-devil flying with wings. The lion bit the demi-devil and pushed both himself and the devil through the window, falling into the seawater.
In the next pictures; the witch was imprisoned and her surrounding caretakers were running around trying to protect her child. The shadow approached them but could not get close as the light was filled with a distinct brightness that burnt the devils whenever they came close. The people were terrified and were running to the sea, the boats left the shores and those who stay met a horrible demise. The guard approached the caretaker holding the basket meant to contain the child. But the basket was empty, the caretaker missed with the crowd running on the boat, and the witch disappeared from prison with the chains binding her hands. The shadow searched all over the throne room, and he acted in desperation, Inside the boat, the queen holding onto her child was surrounded by greedy men who wanted to kill her.
She remembered the happy days when there was bountiful joy on the faces of her people. Thunder clashed into the boat, weak as she was, she only lay in the sinking boat as the crowd rushed on her.
In the next picture; she was lying on a golden dragon; her child was lost in the sea. She returned to the city to find the street empty with roaming guards busily digging every part of the village, she enters the tower to find her dead husband lying on the ground unburied. She set a curse on the men to follow her husband for all eternity. The one thousand soldiers left the city with the woman.
“That is it? What happened next,” Sirius demanded.
The painting and the sculptures are all directed to a large river filled with elixir. The sparkling bottle holding the witch.
“Who is this sorcerer and why does he love the dark so badly,” Cadie asked.
Without even realizing we were already at the mouth of the cave on the hill. The large open space is filled with growing monkey flowers.
Eddrick, Magnes, and Ray were still inside the tomb, the cave did not close; the moon shone brightly inside the cave, and the snow started falling.
“The moonlight is beautiful,” Cadie said.
“Look at the crystals; is the river flowing?” Magnes wondered.
We all stood to watch the flowing river lifting the reindeer into the wide river. It began running on the river shining brightly with its horns. The magma liquid produced more flowing into the river. We moved closer to the river; Sirius climbed a tall standing man carrying a large globe. Sirius uses his hands to sweep into the painting. He finds the painting sticky with shining silvery dust on his hands.
“Magnes throw to me one of your bottles,” Sirius said.
He soon filled the bottle with magma liquid, descended to the ground; moved closer to fatty who had a very hot body, the kind young gentleman, lying on the ground had his wound reopening after stitches. Sirius poured a small amount of the elixir into his wound. His heart started beating so fast, his chest wound began to burn like acid thrown onto a man. the wound quickly dried and the burnt bones reformed, his hotness cooled down; the fever died down. Ray’s chubby cheeks redden.
“Wow, it is working. Now that my mind has come on it there should be an artifact here” Magnes said. Everyone turned their attention to look at me.
“What! We should be worried about Ray” I protested not knowing what to do.
“He is out of danger, now we can go wild”
“We can camp here for the meantime since it is snowing outside, I mean we have permission from the owner.”
Everyone laughs and depart to explore the various part of the cave. The books shelf formed like a library with several scrolls and the large open space with snake-like paths were filled with sculptures and paintings. There was a narrow road between the two facing twins. I sat alone with fatty. I drew the swords from my back, the sharp edges felt like a thirsty man out for blood. Without realizing I sprinkled my blood on the sword. Eddrick appeared, meow meow.
“Are you asking me to follow you?” I said in a dazing voice. The swords took a lot of blood from me than I expected. I walked through the glassy window inside the bookshelf and found myself in a dark room with a lot of pulley mechanics controlling the system in the valley. I accidentally stepped on a land mine triggering spikes to come from the ground. The sideways fire erupted, I walked through the fire only for my body to be frozen. My breath shakes from the cold, my heart beat so fast in order to produce heated energy in my body. I ascended the staircase leading to the moving wheel. The wheel moved from one place to the next cave entrance. The entire tomb was built beneath the entire valley and some part of the hills. The wheels carried me to a smaller narrow cave. There I found a pool of water. The water was thick I got closer and saw the water was actually a lava liquid used to heal Ray. I drank some to see if it can emancipate the dark force within me. I found a strong refreshing energy running through my body, my wounds healed but only a small dark vapor emitted from my body. No matter how hard I drank nothing worked.
