Discord in the Night (2)

“So many people think I grew up in like some super athletic or military family of high society and that I’m being forced into sports medicine, but that’s so far from the truth. I grew up in the country with my five older sisters, of which I’m the youngest. My parents are blue-collar workers, and my sisters are teachers, or work at the local businesses. I’m the first to actually leave our town and come to college. My rugby scholarship is the only reason I can afford it. I bet you guys weren’t expecting that for my backstory, huh?” Gabe gulps the last of his fourth drink.

“I’m ashamed to say, but I never expected that at all Gabe. I had thought you came from that biased background. I’m sorry.” Inna speaks with a tone of genuine remorse, and pouts slightly.

“Ah, it’s ok Inna. Lots of people think that, so I won’t hold it against you. If I didn’t know me, I’d make the same assumptions to be honest. Not to mention, I’m kind of the typical idiot jock.”
