Rainy Daydream

The rain returned, accompanied by dark clouds as its companion. The nickname The Crying Maestro seemed to suggest that the rain would always come. Regardless of whether it was the dry season or the rainy season, this city... always wept.

People these days might not know where the nickname originated. Or why the city was called Grimoir. It sounded amusing, as if it were a localized adaptation of Grimoire, meaning a book of magic.

"Hey, don't you ever feel curious?" Nicho asked.

"Hmm?"

"Why does this city always rain? And what's with its weird name? I mean, for a city in Indonesia, especially on the island of Java, doesn't Grimoir sound too Western?"

"..."

"Even though I was born here, I still don't get the history of this place. My mom doesn't know either when I asked her. According to school books, this place was named by the Dutch when they came here. Which is still weird, because the word Grimoir isn't even Dutch."
