After moments of fooling around. The P.E. teacher finally checked the time and decided it was time to gather every student and start the class.
"Alright, everyone gatherー"
Only this many words were enough for everyone to listen and stop what they were respectively doing.
"17 people, I see. I expected more people, but I guess it works."
It was clear that some students were bunking the class but he seems to not care.
"It's a bit sudden, but I'll be examining your abilities after you're done warming up. You guys will be swimming."
"Um sensei, I can't swim though…"
A single boy raised his hands. He is also on my watch list.
"As the teacher, I'll make sure that you learn how to swim by the summer. Don't worry."
"There's no need to learn how to swim… We can't go to the beach anyway."
"That's too bad. It doesn't matter if you're bad at swimming now, but I'll make sure everyone learns. Learning how to swim will be useful. I guarantee it."
Learning is always useful.
Hmm...
I wonder, how creatures learn.
Learning can only be done by hard work.
So can hard work climb a wall called 'Talent'?
Can hardworking people surpass Natural Geniuses through their experience?
And what exactly mean by genius?
Not the definition but how can we label hardworking and geniuses?
I never understood the definition of genius. Maybe because in my past life, I did not have the pleasure of this freedom.
Everyone started the warm-up exercises. Ike had the nerve to glance at me again and again. I might be ignoring them from the start but this is getting annoying. Unfortunately, I couldn't do anything.
we were then, instructed to start the 50m swim. Students who didn't know how to swim were allowed to touch the bottom of the pool with their feet.
I looked at Ayanokoji going into the pool and then slowly put my right leg into the pool. Lightly jumped into the pool.
My body quickly gets accustomed to temperature-related pools.
I lightly swam the 50-meter mark.
"Anyway, it looks like mostly everyone can swim."
"Sorry, Sensei. Back in middle school, I was called the Flying Fish after all."
"I see. Then you guys can immediately start competing against each other then. 50m freestyle, separate yourselves by gender."
"C-compete!? Are you serious?"
"I'll give the first-place winner a bonus: 5,000 points. On the other hand, last place will get supplementary lessons so prepare yourselves."
Those who were good at swimming were cheering, while the worse swimmers weren't thrilled at all.
"Because there aren't too many girls, I'll split you guys into two groups of 5 and 6, and give the fastest time the overall victory. For the boys, I'll take the top 5 times and then hold a final round."
There were 16 boys and 11 girls, excluding those who didn't know how to swim.
The first turn was of girls (which I was a part of, ofc).
I internally debated whether to win this race or not.
5000 points were nothing to me but for naive-hot-blooded teenagers, it meant the world.
Animals and birds die for food, humans die for wealth.
Finally reaching the conclusion I made my decision.
I was in the second group, the same group as Kushida.
Third POV:-
Raphael looked at Group 1 getting ready to race. It might be exciting for others but she is already a new winner thus her face remains calm.
If asked her classmates about her, most of them would answer without much thought as 'calm and cool' or 'gentle and helpful'.
Most of the time her face was calm.
Some would also compare her facial expressions to another of her classmate, Ayanokoji.
On the surface both there
Expressions look similar but watching carefully Ayanokoji's face showed no emotion while on the other hand, Raphael has a calm expression. She would show a small smile whenever someone approached her.
She would also be described as introverted. Probably because of this trait, a lot of students thought that she is naive.
Girls admire beauty more than boys. Just in different forms for example, in the form of jealousy.
But Raphael's action was like a cute black introverted cat.
Even though, given her big size and height of 5.9 ft, she looked cute.
There were muscles visible but her body was definitely on the lean side.
The muscle was fairly kept in place so as not to be visible.
The P.E. teacher realized that in a single glance.
Her long silky hair and Red eyes attracted most of the attention.
Usually, she wears earrings on her ear. People questioned her to which she replied, 'It is for me to remember my home'.
Raphael appearance-
A/N: To everyone who was demanding Mc's appearance. I, in truth, wanted to keep it for a particular scene.
