[Sloth has descended] (IV)

Ruby's POV:

I slowly opened my eyes, feeling the weight of the thick, woolen blankets still draped over me. My surroundings were unfamiliar, and there was a strange aura of otherworldliness that permeated the air. I sat up, taking in the room, which was furnished with odd, antique furniture, but it was not what caused the feeling of unease that gnawed at me.

The walls of the room were adorned with strange glyphs and symbols that seemed to writhe and twist of their own accord, like snakes seeking escape from the confines of the stone. The air was heavy and charged with an eerie energy that prickled my skin and made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

As I looked around, I realized that I was not alone. A figure loomed in the shadows, its form indistinct and impossible to make out. The shape seemed to flicker and shift like a mirage, and its presence sent a shiver down my spine.
