Escape- part one

Once Eve freed herself from her binds, she quickly stood up and walked to the door. She paused in her tracks and went to look into the big pot, wondering what they were brewing.

The horrible smell reached her nostrils, and she quickly closed her nose, feeling the urge to bend over and retch. Were they drinking this? The question only made her stomach churn more, and she quickly moved away.

Fortunately, the door wasn't locked, and she opened it slowly and peeked outside. There was a long corridor with cells on each side, and one lantern hanging on the hall serving as the only light. The closest cell looked dark, and she couldn't see beyond the bars; she didn't know if anyone was in it.
