(The fall of a Padawan.)

Chapter eighteen:

This was the must boring assignment Cale ever had. He was back in the Jedi academy looking over it until Rey Palpatine came back to expect it. Tedious inspection drills and guarding impregnable force field generators was all there was to do.

Cale was sitting at a table spinning Anakin Skywalker's blue lightsaber. The door then slid open and a Rebel soldier walked through. "Cale Lestin, a transport had just arrived we need you to expect the prisoner's."

"You're big boys you can do it yourself." Said Cale Lestin. "Rey herself wants you to be there." Cale sighed at least it was something to do.

He had arrived to see the transport land on the flight deck. It looked as if though a hundred prisoners had piled out of the transport. A prisoner with a black cloak stepped out. He immediately caught Cale's eye. He doesn't seem to belong to a bunch of Stormtroopers. Cale hadn't sensed anyone who had a connection with the Force onboard.

"You've excepted every one of these people have you not?" Said Cale Lestin.

"Yes, Cale Lestin." Replied the Rebel soldiers.

"Then I am going to the training room. It seems that you can handle this without me." Cale walked off with an uneasy feeling but shook it off.

Rey was on a assignment to liberate the Final Order and had been gone for a couple of days. It gave Cale time to think of all that happened for the past few weeks. Rey was the granddaughter of the most powerful Sith Lord ever and the most powerful Jedi to ever live.

He had also remembered the first time he had ever seen the real Rey. Then the shock of when he found out, Rey Palpatine, the scavenger girl from Jakku, was actually his Jedi Master. Two droids held their lightsabers in a defensive position. Cale stopped daydreaming to hold Anakin Skywalker's blue lightsaber in a defensive position. Remember, he told himself. A Padawan use their lightsaber for protection and defense never for attack. He had learned that lesson from watching the many holos he had watched.

The droids dashed towards him and started precise strikes towards his arms to disarm him. Cale blocked the attacks coming at him with ease. It was hard to control his emotions. The dark part of him kept urging to use his anger and to give focus to his power. But the true side of him, the part that was Rey Palpatine's apprentice, told him different.

One of the droids had left themselves open when Cale heard General Poe Dameron's voice over the intercom. "Attention all troopers there is a prison break. Everyone gather together at hangar 84G immediately." Immediately Cale shut down the training room and ran out the door. He turned on his comlink to hear more news. "Cale Lestin we need you to meet up with a detachment of the 120th Legion who have returned from an exterior inspection."

"Understood General Poe Dameron. On my way." Replied Cale Lestin.

The blast doors opened to show about fifteen Rebel soldiers fighting about fifty Stormtroopers. Cale unclipped Anakin Skywalker's blue lightsaber and Force Jumped in front of a Stormtrooper and Force Pushed him against a wall. "I am going to have to try my best to save the Rebel soldiers." Cale said to himself.

He ignited Anakin Skywalker's blue lightsaber and deflected the blaster fire pointed at him. He could easily deflect the blasts heading his way with a few flicks of Anakin Skywalker's blue lightsaber, but the real problem was trying to save the Rebel soldiers.

Cale cut the Stormtroopers and stabbed them in ways that would kill them. "Cale Lestin." General Poe Dameron said over his comlink.

"Go ahead General Poe Dameron." Replied Cale Lestin.

"It seems that the prison break originated at cell block 2180." Said General Poe Dameron.

Cale called over to the troops. "Let's move out."

With blaster fire coming from their fronts and backs the troopers still managed to get to the cell. It doesn't take about five minutes for the Rebel soldiers to overtake the prison block.

"Cale Lestin it seems that one of the Stormtroopers had stolen the plans for the Jedi academy. We need those back." Said General Poe Dameron.

Cale felt the light side of the Force flow through him and told a Rebel soldier to come with him. "I want you to immobilize that man there, but I want him alive. Do not let anyone come three feet of that man's body." The Rebel soldier nodded. He took out his sniper rifle, aimed, and hit the Stormtrooper in the leg. As soon as the shot was fired Cale started jumping platform to platform towards the Stormtrooper. When he fell to the ground other Stormtroopers soldiers tried to grab the holodisc that he had with him, but the Rebel soldier picked them up.

Cale then got to the paralyzed body of the Stormtrooper and grabbed the disc while deflecting a couple of blaster shots. Another signal came from Cale's comlink. "Cale Lestin?" Said General Poe Dameron.

"What is it General Poe Dameron?" Replied Cale Lestin.

"The Final Order have taken over the firing room." Said General Poe Dameron.

"The Final Order is starting to get on my nerves." Cale said to himself.

It didn't take long for Cale and the 120th Legion to gain control of the firing room. As soon as they took control Cale got another signal from his comlink.

"Cale Lestin it seems that the plans you brought were just a copy." Said General Poe Dameron.

"Damn, the Final Order is smarter than I thought." Replied Cale Lestin.

"It seems that the Final Order is making a escape on one of our transports. Destroy the transport and retrieve the plans." Said General Poe Dameron.

Cale ran through the corridor's and deflected blaster fire on the way. He went through the blaster door and saw the transport. He looked around to see a Rebel soldier finishing off a Stormtrooper.

"Trooper stop playing around and destroy the transport." Said Cale Lestin.

"Yes Cale Lestin." Replied the Rebel soldier. It took three shots to bring down the transport, but it eventually was destroyed. Cale felt a rift through the Force. He turned around to see the man that he had been suspicious of earlier wielding two crimson red lightsabers. Cale Force Jumped down to meet the Sith Lord face to face.

Rey Palpatine was in the Millennium Falcon heading for the Jedi academy. "Rey I have received information that a bunch of Stormtroopers have started a prison break and are trying to take the plans for the Jedi academy." Said Finn. Rey replied back to Finn. "My apprentice Cale Lestin is in the Jedi academy I think he can handle it, or do you doubt his abilities."

"Not at all Rey, but your grandfather Emperor Palpatine is also in the Jedi academy." Replied Finn. Rey Palpatine breathed in and out deeply for a few seconds and thought Cale had never battled a Sith Lord before he may not be able to handle it. "I want to be in the Jedi academy in one minute Finn." Said Rey.

"It shall be done Rey." Replied Finn.

Blaster fire was coming from all over the place. "How did this happen." Cale said to himself. Emperor Palpatine was parrying every blow that Cale made. "If only I wasn't so arrogant than all of this could have been avoided." Cale said to himself.

"You are very skillfully Padawan. You're actually making me have to try at this." Emperor Palpatine responded with, remark. You should do or do not there is no try. During the fight Cale was learning the way Emperor Palpatine fought. It seemed that Emperor Palpatine doesn't beat his foes into submission, but use grace and precise strikes to defeat his enemies. Cale had watched a holo of different lightsaber techniques that Emperor Palpatine employed and it appeared that Emperor Palpatine was using the seventh lightsaber form Vaapad or the most aggressive form.

"So he is using my own strength against me, well I'll have to try and fix." Cale said to himself. Cale Force Jumped at Emperor Palpatine and swung Anakin Skywalker's blue lightsaber down, but Emperor Palpatine was somehow able to absorb the impact and Force Pushed Cale backwards.

Before Cale hit the ground he spread his legs in such a way that absorbed the impact and he was able to throw himself back at Emperor Palpatine with twice the Force Speed. Emperor Palpatine was thrown off balance and hit the ground. Emperor Palpatine then got up and said. "It is a shame that you waste your talents serving the light side of the Force." Cale smiled. "If only he knew." Cale said to himself. Then he spoke to Emperor Palpatine. "Look around you, the Final Order has been defeated so you should just give it up. I don't want to hurt you." Said Cale Lestin.

"Whether I give up or not the outcome will be the same. So if I have to go I will not let a Padawan live." Replied Emperor Palpatine. "Oh great." Cale Lestin said to himself. Cale saw Emperor Palpatine close his eyes and reached deep into the dark side of the Force. He suddenly disappeared before Cale's eyes. Cale looked around but couldn't find Emperor Palpatine anywhere. Then Cale felt a intense pain in his stomach.

He then looked down to see that Emperor Palpatine's crimson red lightsaber had pierced his stomach. Emperor Palpatine retracted the crimson red lightsaber and Cale Lestin fell to the floor.

Rey Palpatine had just entered through the blast door when she saw her apprentice fall to the floor. No, this couldn't have happened again.

Rey Palpatine lifted her hand and Force Pushed Emperor Palpatine so hard that he became unconscious. Rey then ran over to Cale and bent down to pick him up. "Cale, Cale." Rey yelled. Cale slowly opened his eyes. "Rey."

"Don't die on me Cale, you know more than anyone else how many times this happened to me. Don't die on me too." Said Rey Palpatine.

"Rey, whatever happens to me don't blame yourself for this you've done that too much already. I did this myself. Rey listen to me just this once. Do not fully trust your grandfather he has lied to you before he's the one that killed your parents." Cale's body started to become limp. "No not this time." Rey Palpatine said to herself.

She tried to use what she knew of Force Healing to try and save Cale, but it was no use. Rey sat Cale's body down and turned towards Emperor Palpatine who had regained consciousness. Emperor Palpatine could see Rey's anger radiating off of her.

Rey Palpatine started to Force Choke Emperor Palpatine and had paralyzed his whole body. She then used Force Pull to bring Emperor Palpatine over to her. "Do you realize what you have done?" Rey turned her head to look at Emperor Palpatine.

"Cale was a good person and let you killed him. You had already taken my parents away from me and yet your still not satisfied, so you had to kill my only apprentice too." Rey Palpatine then tightened her Force Choke around Emperor Palpatine's throat.

"I swear that every Sith will be purged from the entire galaxy even if I have to kill them myself." Rey brought Emperor Palpatine closer towards her and started shooting him with blue Force Lightning. After five minutes Rey stopped electrocuting Emperor Palpatine, when she could no longer tell what she was electrocuting.

The scavenger girl from Jakku then picked up Cale, her only apprentice, and took him to the Millennium Falcon.
