(Caution animal harm is a horrible thing, but in some forms of witchcraft, it is very likely to happen, and it's in this Chapter. I'll put caution before it happens and after. For those who want to skip it)
I ran around the pack house, pushing through crowds of armored wolves and screaming for Mel and Malik. When the car stopped, Chris yelled at me to go inside as he changed and went straight for the battlefield. I knew I needed to act quickly; these wolves had no idea what they were facing, nor did they stand a chance with the weapons they possessed. If they go out there to fight an army of corrupt, they would be slaughtered and turned. I have to stop this before it turns into a blood bath.
"Krillian!" I stopped in my tracts as I heard my name being yelled. Gabby ran up to me with a medical bag strapped to her waist.
"Where's Mel?"
"All the elderly and kids have been put in the safe room under the packed house; if I'm right, she's with mama Ressa ."
"What?! Mama Ressa? What the hell happened to Malik?"
"The moment the border was attacked, he took off to fight. We tried to stop him, but he wouldn't listen."
"Shit, what about the alpha?" Gabby pointed out the window to where they could see the alpha, wholly decked out with armor heading towards the armory. He knew he'd have to stop her if he was going to do what needed to be done.
"Gabby, I need you to do me a favor; we'll need five torches and a large bowl of water, preferably metal, sage, and as much salt as you can find, and meet me at the center of the pack territory. I need to go speak to the alpha."
"Wait, I must go to the infirmary to check on the wounded!" She yelled after me as I began to run down the hall.
"Just do what I said, and I promise I'll help you heal everyone after; just go and hurry!" I teleported away before I could hear her response. I had no time to argue with her; this needed to be done quickly, or everyone would die. It wasn't long before I could see her dawning her swords. "Alpha!" Before I could reach her, two wolves had me by the arms.

POV Chris
I could hear the sound of metal slicing threw the air. I was almost there, almost onto the battlefield. My body moved swiftly through the trees as I finally left the clearing, but what I saw made my breath hitch. There were hundreds of them. They were tossing the wolves of my pack around like they were nothing but pesky flies. It made my blood boil, and before I knew it, I leaped into the air and ripped the head off of one of the corrupts.
'Go for the heads. That's the only way to immobilize them!' I gave orders through the pack link, and not long after, I saw a drastic change in the battle's outcome. My wolves began to decapitate as many of the demons as possible, they showed the full strength of the moonstone pack, and they didn't hold an ounce of it back.
'Watch out!" By the time I realized what was happening, I was tackled to the ground by one of the corrupt wolves. It snapped its jaws covered in black liquid at my face trying harder and harder to sink its teeth into my skin. I could feel it overpowering my strength as it got closer to my face; I knew if I got bit, then that was it. I'd end up just like these creatures. Foaming at the mouth, ready to attack anything and everything in sight.

"Let me go!"
"Why should we?"
"How do we know you didn't cause this attack?" The two brutes asked the question and snarled in his face.
"Let him go, you brainless idiots; if you two would show up for a meeting occasionally, you'd know he wasn't a suspect."
"Yes, sister." The two put krillian down, but before he could question if they were related to the woman, she spoke.
"Where's Chris? He should be with you?"
"He ran off to the front line when we got here." Alexandria went pale and quickly turned for the battlefield, but before she could rush off, Krillian grabbed her arm.
"Hold on, wait, I need your help."
"Yes, and so do the wolves. They need their alpha!" She tried to start again, but I wouldn't let go. I wouldn't let this happen another time. "Let me go; boy, my son is out there."
"Your son?" She has a son, who? I quickly shook the question away and got back to the task at hand. "He may need you, but I can keep them all alive. I can help them, but I need you to trust me." She looked torn as she looked at my hand and out to the battlefield. Right now, she probably felt like she had to choose between her son and everyone else. This is why I never envied the coven leaders or the elders, cause one day, you might have to pick between the people you love and those you swore to protect. I could feel it, and I could feel it all over again, the same feeling I got back with the mountain peak pack, the same feeling I got on the way back here. A cold never, ending chill down my spine, like death was doing it again like he was draping his cloak around me as he readied his scythe for the blood bath to come. I tugged on her one more time, I could feel the tears in my eyes and the panic attack rising in my chest. She looked at me, and I could tell she could smell my emotions.
"Please." I couldn't handle it happening again. I had to do something besides showing up to late. Had rested on my shoulder and another on hers
"Sister, go with the witch. We'll make sure he stays protected." She looked at me with determination now and nodded her head. I ran as fast as I could towards where Gabby and two other wolves were waiting for me with three big bags of rock salt and all the items I asked for.
"Pour the salt into a pile, and I'll set up the rest." Gabby started to open her bag, but the other two just looked at me. I could see the unwillingness to listen to a witch leaking from their auras, but I didn't have time for this. " NOW!" The wind picked up, and I knew my eyes were glowing. The two wolves quickly joined Gabby and poured their salt into one colossal pile. Each of them looked at me when they were done. I motioned for them to move out of the way. With one swipe of my hand, the salt had moved and formed a perfect circle, the metallic bowl nested itself into the center, and the five torches planted themselves into the earth. One at each corner of the ring. "Gabby, can you use the elements?"
"Everything except for lightning."
"I only need fire." I held my hand out to her, and she took it and began to follow my lead as we both walked into the circle of salt. The moment we entered, the torches burst into flames that formed in the shape of a pentagram that symbol burned itself in the earth with the circle of salt in the middle.
"Holy shit, did we do that."
"Yes, and I'll explain everything to you later, but for now, just repeat after me."

Once again, it snapped at my face trying its best to take me down, but before it could, I pulled my strength into my hind legs and kicked him off me and into the air. Before the body came down, Malik leaped in the air slicing off its head while Trevor grabbed it, throwing the damn thing across the battlefield.
"Thanks," I said as I changed back into human form.
"Don't thank me; I'm only killing these things for my reasons," Malik spoke as he sliced the head off an approaching corrupt.
"Either way, you helped me when you didn't have to." The boy just nodded in response.
"So, do you have any great ideas about how to stop them?" Trevor asked the question as the three began to move and fight as a group.
"What about Krillian? Wasn't he with you? He should be able to help us."
"He's somewhere at the pack house. As soon as we arrived, I ran straight to the battle, and I think he went looking for his daughter." When the words left his mouth, Trevor's fist met the back of his head.
"What the fuck!"
"You're telling me you left the one person who could do something about this thing off the battlefield?!" Trevor looked as if he was going to snap and hit him again.
"What was I supposed to do, drag him to the battlefield while he kicked and screamed for his daughter?"
"I don't know. I just thought he might be here, seeing as he knows we aren't equipped to fight so many of these things. Do you think he's going to run?"
"No, I feel that he isn't that type of person," Malik spoke up. "Hopefully, he has a plan."
"A plan for what we're winning." As Trevor talked, Malik turned him and Chris toward the direction he was looking for.
"Oh shit." Along the edge of the woods, a wave of corruption ran towards them.
"RETREAT!"

"Anox un sætps alor, anox la lune Alor" as they chanted, the wind began to pick up, and the fire started to rise; the wolves began to move away because of the heat of the flames. Before they could get far, Gabby and Krillian, while still chanting, held their hands out toward the alpha. She looked to their hand, but when she hesitated, Krillian stopped chanting and stepped towards the edge of the flames opening up a path. Slow but surely, the alpha stepped in as the pentagram began to close behind her.
"Alpha, hold out your hand and moonstone." Gabby still chanted in the back as the alpha pulled out a necklace and placed it in Krillian's hand. "You told me today that these stones are a part of each and every pack member, but how much does this stone mean to you?"
"I don't understand?"
"I need you to speak it within the circle?"The Alpha paused as she looked at the stone before her.
"This stone means everything to me. To some, it's just a hunk of rock or a silly tradition, but to me, it's the very thing that holds us together; it's the symbol of our pack that shows that we all stand as one, as one family."
"And are you willing to sacrifice that symbol?"
"What?"
"Are you willing to sacrifice this stone to protect your people?"
".....Yes"
"Then give me your hand." Krillian pulled out a blade and pointed it downwards, allowing the alpha to grab it and cut her hand. "Sang lier lo ce, Sang lier un Cree." As her blood dripped onto the stone, smoke rose from it, and Krillian walked to the center of the pentagram and dropped the rock just as it burst into flames. "Sang lier lo ce, Sang lier un Cree. Anox un sætps alor, anox la lune Alor. Demaske na bel ta Suu, von vex ulon ta fer" The stone rose red hot as the circle began to flare; it slowly spanned into the air and floated in front of them.
"Sang lier lo ce, Sang lier un Cree. Anox un sætps alor, anox la lune Alor. Demaske na bel ta Suu, von vex ulon ta fer. Malum ex nova denox vocatu reves malvera la protectuim!" The stone shot high above them into the sky just as it exploded into hundreds of shards. They flew out in a dome-shaped pattern to each corner of the pack territory. As they went down, they formed a sparkling net.
"Now!" Gabby yelled as Krillian's eyes began to glow, and he slapped his palms together. There were flashes of light all over the territory within the barrier around them. Just as the barrier met the ground, every member of the moonstone pack stood somewhere within it. He could tell that they were confused by what had just happened. Some of them were covered in black blood, fresh off the battlefield, and now they were watching as their enemy ran towards the pack land they were protecting, but before the wolves could jump back into action, they slammed into the barrier and burst into flames. The Wolves were frozen in place, but slowly one by one, they began to cheer. "We did it!" Gabby yelled, excited as she watched Chris come running towards them.
"What happened? How did you make this?" Chris pointed toward the sky, but gabby just pointed toward Krillian. "You saved us?"
"Not yet. I need you to get all the wounded into your infirmary; even if it's only a small scratch or a tiny cut that got the blood into it, they need to be treated and get someone to find me a snake."Krillian directed his words toward the Alpha.
"Done, but I thought you said there was no cure to the corruption?" Krillian quickly picked up the Metalic bowl and sage as they began to walk towards the infirmary, where many wolves were now being packed into.
"Corruption can not be cured, yes, but an infection can as long as it has not spread completely throughout the body." Kie was caught off guard by the number of wolves sitting in the room. Some were severely hurt, while others had a few black veins spreading from scares. There had to be a least a hundred wolves waiting for treatment.
"Gabby, start burning the sage; send up some blessing of fire and air in the room." She nodded as she got to work. Krillian quickly formed a circle of candles in the room. They all lit up, and the wolves started to step back. The witch rolled his eyes, and he pulled out a crystal skull from his shadow. He placed the bowl on the ground and put the large crystal in it.
"It's so cold." One of the wolves dropped to the ground after saying that. His eyes rolled to the back of his head, and instead of seeing white, there was black.
*Caution*
"WHERE'S THAT SNAKE!" Krillian knew that if this began to take any longer, these wolves would become corrupt. It wasn't long before a wolf came running in with a sizeable red-bellied snake. The moment it was about to be handed over to Krillian, it tried to snap at him, but the witch was faster. He grabbed it by its head, forcing its mouth closed. The snake retaliated by wrapping its body around his arm. "I'm sorry little one, but your blood is needed to save the lives of this pack." With a quick slash, he cut open the snake, spilling his blood over the crystal skull in the bowl. It filled the bowl and dripped around the giant Crystal.
"Krillian, it's done." Gabby stood in front of him. "Is there anything I can do to help?"
"No, this is a 5th Tier spell; it's too advance for you now." Gabby nodded as she moved herself to the side. She watched as the witch dipped his hands into the blood. He swayed and moved it around until it began to bubble, and his eyelids began to flutter. He slowly began to turn the skull and make it face away from him. As he did, the wolves started to scream out in pain.
"What the hell is happening, Krill!?" Trevor didn't receive an answer as he watched the wolves begin to dry heave and double over in pain.
"Do not fight it!" Kie yelled to the wolves as their black Veins began to disappear. One by one, the wolves started to throw up black blood on the floor. They watched as they slithered toward Krillian's bowl. The black snakes hissed and worked their way over the metallic edge, across the snake blood, and forced themselves into the mouth of the crystal skull. Once they had gone inside, they seemed to struggle within it, but none of them could move out, but Krillian wasn't done yet. He picked up the bowl. With golden flames licking at his fingertips, the bowl began to melt, but instead of dripping to the floor, the molten silver traveled upwards. It slowly crawled up, forming a perfect dome around the skull. When the crown finally closed off, a wave of wind and power blew from it, shaking the room as it smoothed over and floated in the air.
"Is everyone okay?" Krillian asked as he stood up from the ground. He was met with grunts and grumbles from around the room; the wolves were all checking themselves for the black veins that were once there, but they were all gone.
"Are you okay?" It was a young wolf that asked the witch her question. Chris turned to look at Krillian, and that's when he noticed the witch was swaying.
"I'm fine." He tried to say, but when he turned to Chris, he could see the blood dripping from his nose. Chris moved like light as he caught the handsome witch before he could hit the floor.
"Hey, hey, wake up! Krillian!?" That was the last thing he heard before he succumbed to darkness.

POV Krillian
"We need to wake him." There was sound all around me. At first, I could barely hear them, but the noise became louder.
"I don't know if we should?" I could recognize this voice; it was Malik's.
"What do you mean the meeting starts at 15? Is there something wrong with waking him up?" This one was Chris; he sounded like he was walking closer to me. That's not a good idea.
"I just got this feeling something bad will happen if you wake him up."
"Well, I'll take my chances." I could feel Chris put his hand on me and shake my body. Oh, that's not good. I felt my eyes pop open, and I rose in bed. But the moment I did, Chris went flying across the room. I quickly looked around in whole only to find a beautiful light skinned on the other side of a bedroom wall.
"What the hell?"
"What? He tried to tell you not to wake me up." With Malik's help, Chris stood up and dusted himself off.
"So you were awake the whole time?"
"No, I was just aware of my surroundings, my mind was awake, but my body and magic were slowly adjusting to the energy my body had put out."
"I don't understand?" Krillian started walking down the hall towards the meeting room.
"For the last two years, my body has gotten used to not using high-level spells back to back. Because I wasn't using my power, some of it had gone dormant, and my body got used to it. So when I woke my magic, my body couldn't handle the strain, and I passed out while my body strengthened.
"So passing out was what, a reboot?"
"To put it in Layman's terms, it was a system reboot. But how about you run me threw what happened after I passed out."
"Firstly, we sent spies to gather information on the corrupt army; their numbers are about 500, most of them are ex-wolves, but the omegas say there are a few of them that look like fae and humans. Also, the worrier wolves used their nature energy to convince the forest not to allow them to leave it or let anyone in.
"Wow, you guys are really on top of things; no wonder you're the full pack in America. Has anyone spotted a witch yet?"
"That may be the hooded figure; the omega says they were speaking to someone in a black cloak." I turn to him, stopping dramatically in my tracks.
"You said they were speaking? Was it complete sentences or partial?" This isn't good. If they're already speaking, it's not long before they gain demonic abilities.
"We don't know, and our spies couldn't get close enough to hear what they were discussing. Why?"
"If they can speak, then that means that they are gaining intelligence; once they have surpassed their original intelligence, they'll begin to gain demonic training and abilities." The three of them stepped up to the door; Chris knocked three times before two wolves dawning armor pulled the doors open—almost all seats were full this time. Trevor sat next to his father, the beta, Gregory. I think that's the name Chris told me. Gabrielle had an empty chair beside her where her mother would have sat if she was still among us. Maidox beckoned for Malik to sit next to him. Chris sat across from his father, who sat at the Alpha's side. They smiled at each other, and that's when everything clicked; Chris was her son, and Sam was the Lunar of the pack. Everyone was sitting beside the person whose job they would one day inherit, and then there was me standing here like an idiot until someone intervened.
"Krillian, why don't you sit by Samuel." Chris's face went stark red, and Trevor raised a brow at the implication the alpha was making. If I'm reading the room, the only person who should be able to sit in that seat is the future Luna/ Lunar of this pack, aka Chris's mate.
"Do you think that's disrespectful towards whoever Chris's mate will be?" Even though those words came from me, I still began to sit down next to Sam, who gave me a bright smile.
"Nonsense, I'm sure my son's future mate won't care about you sitting in that seat before they could." Alpha Alexandria shrugs it off as if she wouldn't hear any more of the conversation. "Now that that's out of the way, we should probably go back over what's happened after you healed the wolves."
"He's already been Debriefed on the matter."
"Good, then we can move on to the bigger problem, like
Who sent them."
"You should focus on them; they are a much larger threat than you assume." Everyone looked at me as I interrupted the Alpha.
"They're not a threat; they can't increase their number because we trapped them in the forest, meaning they can't get stronger," Gregory said.
"Just because they can't increase the size of their army doesn't mean they aren't a threat. Chris mentioned that the corrupt were seen speaking, correct." Maidox nodded his head in confirmation.
"Yes, is that a bad thing?" Krillian looked at a man he hadn't noticed; he sat beside one of the alpha's brothers. Unlike the man he sat beside, he was leaner than the rest.
"It is, you see, a corrupt is made when the spell of demonic infection has successfully spread throughout the body. This forces the body to shut down and destroy its system; then, the demonic cells restart the body. First, it activates the body's basic bodily functions like eating and, for corrupt, the need to spread the Infection. Then it works its way to muscle memory, such as combat. Then they began to regain the ability to comprehend. At low levels of comprehension, they still need the witch to control them remotely, but once they have regained their original intelligence, they can do things on their own all they need is an order from the puppet master."
"But why is this so concerning? In my experience, it is easier to take down a creature of intelligence instead of a mindless beast. Intelligence equals predictably."
"I understand, alpha, but that's not why they are concerned; it's when they start to become smarter than what they were pre-corruption. It's when they start to develop true demonic abilities. Greater strength, mental possession, shadow manipulation, and fire control. Those are just the basic abilities of a demon, but they can vary from what kind of creature they were before they were corrupt. As for a demonized wolf, picture a wolf just as strong as an alpha, but it can breathe fire and play tricks on your mind turning you against each other. Now picture 500 of them." Everyone in the room went wide-eyed. But it was Denah who spoke first.
"We need to get rid of them Immediately."
"Yes, and that's why I propose that I become the new Forge Master of the moonstone pack
