His concerned tone made her heart ache. She could feel it from his eyes. It was as if they were saying, not being forgiven by a loved one was worse than anything else in the world. 

She no longer suspected his love for her.

Since she liked him so much, asking him to leave was merely something she said on impulse.

"Jefferson, as long as you don't act like this in the future."

"I won't make you sad by lying to you again," he promised.

"You're not allowed to lie to me anymore, not even once." She wanted to try and see what Jefferson's reaction would be if she acted a little willfully.

"I swear."
