The fall of a king

They say that when the blood falls of a corrupted Fae king or queen, it's tainted with their poisoned thoughts and salted with their greed.

I wonder if I'll see proof of that as Methuselah and I enter in the estate. The crowd has gathered to the side of the house, and I can feel my heart speed up.

Will I be ready to see this?

My hand is held then, by Death himself, and he gives me a look that shows what he's thinking; he will help me walk in or he will make sure I'm walked out not alone.

Then I remember Quill, and my hold on him loosens. I can't be seen so casual with Methuselah, because no one knows him the way that I do. And having to explain to others why I act the way I do around him would make people think I'm mad.

He notices that it's more of him holding on to me, but says naught, leading the way.
