'Poor thing, but you'll make fine food' Su said to the animal and brought it back

Moments later, the 'Man' stirred and opened his eyes to a smoky surrounding with Su sitting quietly beside a makeshift cooking furnace.

"You are up. Come, have some food'

'food'.... sounded a bit too extravagant for this plain smoked meat

"Last night, i was thinking how I should have ate more at the Inn. But i am not so hungry now"

'grrrrrrrrrwww...' someone's stomach made a noise

Only nature could fully explain why the stomach would always choose to growl at the very moment that the protagonist say 'I am not hungry'.

The 'man's stomach was not an exemption to this theory; for it rumbled just at that moment.

"well, your stomach says otherwise..." Su looked at him. "How is your arm?, that was a deep cut...".

"I do feel a lot better than I felt in my sleep last night"

"that is because I redressed your cut. We should eat this and have a quick wash at the stream down there then continue on our way"

"there is a stream here?"

"yes, I found it when i went to look for food. It is over there" He pointed at the direction with a thin stick

"alright..."

"here, take this" Su cut off some meat from the smoked rabbit and passed it to him

"Thank... you..." actually, saying this phrase to a stranger sounded a bit unusual to his ears.

He was a Prince who rarely conversed with strangers talk less of getting close to them or having a reason to 'thank' them.

The only people who had been worthy of his 'thanks' were his Father and Grandmother in the palace. Occasionally, he would thank his bodyguard Li Yu too and that was it.

Su did not seem to think much about his gratitude or the hesitancy around it. He focused on eating his own part of the meal and then completely scattered the fire so as not to give the enemies a clue on their whereabout.

After the meal, they walked towards the thin stream that flowed on one part of the forest and Su gestured to the 'Man' to take his bath first while he looked around for a guide that could help create an itinerary.

He would not want to spend another night out here in the dark.

After he reminded the 'Man' not to let water touch his wound, he went off.
