Chapter 14

The next day, the racers returned to their cars and got ready to resume the race. Before they did, Lacey and Stephanie made an announcement. Lacey said, "Congratulations, racers, on making it this far. But now we're adding three new racing teams into the race." Stephanie said, "That's right. Say 'hello' to Sabrina and Sheree in Mad Dog Mayhem, Amie and Bridgette in The Mouse Machine, and Cory and Tonya in The Piano Trap. They'll be racing against you too. Good luck." Lacey then shot off the starting pistol, and all the racers raced off to El Paso. After the racers left, Lacey and Stephanie got a call from Marcel from the network, who told them to move the finish line to California, home of the word "Eureka." Lacey said, "Got it, we'll tell them." Lacey hung up her phone, and then they flew to the finish line to get to the finish line before the racers did. 

The Wheeled Mummy Case is in the lead. Then they activated the laser in their car and shot down a bunch of trees to get in the other racers' way, but they all drove around them. Then Donaven hit the gas and speeded away from the other racers. The Frog Hopper is in 2nd, and when they saw The Poker Machine catching up, Narita hit a bees' nest with a baseball bat, and it flew over nearly all the racers behind them and landed in Amie and Bridgette's car, which was in 9th. Then the bees came out of their nest, became angry, and started to sting Amie and Bridgette. Amie and Bridgette said, "Ouch, ouch, ooh." Nayanna looked through her telescope and saw that their plan worked. Then she laughed her guts out at Amie and Bridgette. The Poker Machine is in 3rd, and when they saw Easter Town behind them, Jackie flipped a switch in their car and threw a giant pie at them. When the pie landed, Team Easter got covered in a cream pie, but they drove out of it and then took a detour into a car wash to clean the car and themselves. The Catmobile is in 5th place, and when they saw The Genie's Bottle behind them, they put nose clips on their noses and threw a skunk in their car. Once Desiree and Heather saw the skunk, they started to panic and lost control of their vehicle. Then both The Werewolf Howler and Mad Dog Mayhem passed The Genie's Bottle, putting them in 8th place. The Piano Trap is in last, but they hit their turbo boost button and got past every racer, allowing them to take the lead.

The racers left Mississippi and raced into Louisiana. The Catmobile is in 6th, and when they caught up with Easter Town, they hit the gas and passed them. Then they drove past The Poker Machine and took 4th place. The Piano Trap was in 1st, and when they saw The Wheeled Mummy Case behind them, they shot goo behind them and slimed Easter Town, which was in 6th place. Then Narita took a slight detour into the nearest car wash and cleaned their car. The Wheeled Mummy Case is in 2nd, and when they saw The Frog Hopper catching up, they launched a stink bomb behind them, landing in Team Cat's car. Then the stink bomb exploded and stunk Chris and Joseph out of their vehicle. Chris and Joseph held their noses while they coughed because of the stink. Joseph said, "Air freshener alert." Then The Poker Machine and Easter Town passed The Catmobile, putting them in 6th place. Joseph then sprayed their car with an air freshener to remove the stink. Then Chris and Joseph got back in their car and started racing. 

The Poker Machine is in 4th, but they pushed a button in their car and transported themselves to 2nd place. Easter Town is in 5th, but Narita hit the gas, passed The Frog Hopper, and put themselves in 4th place. The Mouse Machine is in last, but then they flipped a switch in their car, activated the spring setting, bounced over almost all the racers, and put themselves in 2nd. Once they got into 2nd place, the springs on their wheels broke off. The Werewolf Howler is in 8th, but they pulled a lever and activated the rocket set to make them go faster. Once their rocket burnt out, they ended up in 4thplace. Mad Dog Mayhem is neck and neck with The Genie's Bottle, but then Team Mad Dog flips a switch in their car, activating their rocket setting. Then they speeded up their vehicle, ditched Team Genie, and took 3rd place.

The racers then raced out of Louisiana and into Texas. Easter Town is in 7th, and when they saw The Frog Hopper behind them, Sarah threw a smoke bomb at them and blinded them for a minute. While Team Frog was sightless, Team Cat and Team Genie passed them and put Team Frog in last place. The Wheeled Mummy Case is in 6th, but then they pushed a button in their car and started to fire tomatoes at everyone in front of them. Donaven said, "There they are. Nayanna, fire, fire, fire." Hannah and Zach saw the tomatoes behind them through their side mirror and worried. Zach said, "AH! Attack of the killer tomatoes!" Hannah said, "Let's get out of here." Team Mummy kept firing and hit everyone from 5th-2nd with their tomatoes. Amie said, "So that's how you want to play it." Amie pushed a carrot-shaped button in their car and brought out their launcher. Then Bridgette aimed it behind them and locked on target. Amie said, "Ready?" Bridgette gave Amie a thumbs up and told her yes. Amie said, "Fire."

Bridgette launched tons of carrots into the air, and when they landed, they fell on everyone from 3rd to last. Desiree and Heather both said, "Ouch." Jackie shouted, "CARROT ATTACK!" Penny shouted. "HIT THE GAS!" Jackie hit the gas, but the carrots hit them anyway. Jackie and Penny both said, "Ouch." Jackie said, "Time to get even." Jackie pulled a lever in their car, and they started to launch apples at everyone in front of them. Jackie said, "Penny, fire." Everyone in front of them got hit with apples, and The Poker Machine took the lead.

The Frog Hopper is last and catching up with The Genie's Bottle. Once they did, they passed them and took 9th place. Mad Dog Mayhem is in 4th, and when they saw The Werewolf Howler behind them, Sheree started to launch beach balls at them using a giant slingshot. Sheree kept hitting Hannah and Zach in their faces with separate beach balls. When Zach saw a ball headed his way, he took out a baseball bat and hit it back at Sheree. Zach hit the ball so hard that he hit Sheree in the face and destroyed her slingshot. Then The Werewolf Howler passed Mad Dog Mayhem and took 4th place. The Piano Trap is in 2nd, and when they saw The Mouse Machine behind them, Cory hit the gas and ditched The Mouse Machine. The Genie's Bottle is in last, and when they caught up with The Frog Hopper, they passed them and took 9th place. Then they tried to pass Team Cat, but Team Cat wouldn't let them. Since Team Cat wouldn't let Team Genie get by them, Heather pushed a button in their car, activated a propeller in the back, and flew over The Catmobile and all the other racers. When they landed, they deactivated their propeller and took the lead. Lacey and Stephanie saw what had happened on their TV screen and couldn't believe it. Lacey said, "Looks like Team Genie decided to take the high route to take the lead." Stephanie said, "And they're now approaching the finish line."

Once the racers got to the finish line, The Genie's Bottle finished first. Desiree said, "Give us our money." Lacey said, "Sorry, but we have an announcement." Stephanie said, "We'll make it as soon as the other racers arrive." Once the other races got to the finish line, they saw Team Genie already got there first. Hannah said, "Rats, we lost." Lacey said, "Not exactly. You still have a chance." Zach said, "What are you talking about?" Stephanie said, "The finish line got moved to California, home of the word 'Eureka.' But you'll be spending the night here. You'll be racing tomorrow, and The Genie's Bottle will get a 60-second head start. Goodnight." Before nightfall, all the racers got out of their cars dressed like cowboys and cowgirls. Some went to the saloon for some fun, and others went to ride horses for fun. When they finished having fun, all the racers set up camp in the middle of town and slept in separate tents with their racing partner.
