Volume 1 Chapter 6: End Of Configuration Part 2/2
Having decided to purchase 2 skills, each costing only 1 Skill point, I reopened the [Skills] page and began scrolling down to locate the skill that had caught my interest during the initial skill selection. Once I found the first skill, I decided to buy it immediately, considering that most main characters in novels possess it.
[Ding! Are you sure you want to purchase the [Skill] [Analyze] for 1 Skill Points?]
[Yes]
[No]
Without hesitation, I pressed the [Yes] button, as I had repeated the process several times. Every skill point holds significant importance since they are used to acquire skills, making the start crucial. Though I'm aware that I can obtain [Racial Skills] later, having them at the beginning offers a massive advantage. Some might argue that I should utilize the skill points to acquire other skills, but I prefer not to waste time obtaining my [Racial Skills]. I'd rather have them from the start, considering that the skills on the [Skills] page can be acquired through alternative means.
[-1 Skill Points]
[Ding You have successfully purchased the [Skill] [Analyze] for 1 Skill points]
[Remaining Skill point 1]
With just 1 skill point remaining, I began scrolling again to find a highly useful skill. After a few seconds, I came across several skills that seemed beneficial at the start. These skills include [Mana Sense Lv: 1], [Danger Sense Lv: 1], [Life Sense Lv: 1], [Automatic Mana Recovery Lv: 1], [Automatic Health Recovery Lv: 1], [Automatic Stamina Recovery Lv: 1], [Magic Defense Enhancement Lv: 1], [Dexterity Enhancement Lv: 1], [Defense Enhancement Lv: 1], and [Intelligence Enhancement Lv: 1].
[Mana Sense Lv: 1] seems valuable as it implies the ability to sense mana around me. [Danger Sense Lv: 1], akin to [Mana Sense Lv: 1], suggests warning me about incoming dangers. Similarly, [Life Sense Lv: 1] might help detect other players or mobs nearby.
[Automatic Mana Recovery Lv: 1], [Automatic Health Recovery Lv: 1], and [Automatic Stamina Recovery Lv: 1] sound like passive skills beneficial in the long run for mana, health, and stamina recovery respectively.
As for [Magic Defense Enhancement Lv: 1], [Dexterity Enhancement Lv: 1], [Defense Enhancement Lv: 1], and [Intelligence Enhancement Lv: 1], much like the [Racial Skills] such as [Strength Enhancement Lv: 1], [Speed Enhancement Lv: 1], [Vitality Enhancement Lv: 1], and [Magic Enhancement Lv: 1], these 'enhancement' skills likely boost my stats.
Given the usefulness of each skill, choosing only one from the 10 options becomes a challenging decision. After deliberating for a minute, I concluded that [Automatic Mana Recovery Lv: 1] would be the best choice. This decision aligns with my possession of the [Racial Skill] [Blood Magic Lv:1], making mana recovery crucial for initial attacks. Therefore, I've decided to purchase [Automatic Mana Recovery Lv: 1].
[Ding! Are you sure you want to purchase the [Skill] [Automatic Mana recovery Lv: 1]. for 1 Skill Points?]
[Yes]
[No]
So without hesitation, I tap the [Yes] button as confirmation for my last skill point.
[-1 Skill Points]
[Ding You have successfully purchased the [Skill] [Automatic Mana recovery Lv: 1] for 1 Skill points]
[Remaining Skill point 0]
Before I could close the confirmation of my successful skill purchase, I suddenly heard the AI's voice directly in my head.
[Ding! Detected that the user has already consumed all available skill points. Skill selection is now finished.]
[Proceeding to the final part of the configuration]
[Selection of Starting Location]
• Starting Town
• Racial Start
• Random Start
After hearing the A.I's voice again and encountering a menu with three different choices in front of me, I realized I lacked information about their differences. I mentally commanded the A.I to provide descriptions of each choice.
[Ding! Request accepted.]
[Random Start] - Not recommended, as the starting point is randomly allocated on the map. It's uncertain whether you'll spawn in a safe environment.
This option suits those seeking a challenging experience or testing their luck. However, it's strongly advised against for new players.
[The Starting Town] - Typical starting point. Ideal for newcomers.
[Racial Start] - This starting point aligns with your chosen race, throwing you directly into the field.
Highly recommended for players who have selected the Inhuman race, enabling a more immersive experience with their inhuman traits.
After considering the first choice, [Random Start], I've ruled it out. I don't want to spawn in a random location that could instantly lead to my demise. It's possible to end up near a powerful mob or in dangerous terrain, such as an active volcano, resulting in immediate death. If such an unfortunate event occurs, Vanessa would surely find it amusing, and given the game's recommendation against this start for new players, it's best avoided.
Picking [The Starting Town] might pose a risk as a vampire character, considering the vulnerability to direct sunlight similar to the vampires in the game's lore. This could potentially restrict my movement until nighttime, impacting my ability to freely explore and level up, leading to considerable time wastage.
After reviewing my options, [Racial Start] seems most fitting for my character choice. It appears to be the best-suited option for me. However, before confirming my decision, I re-read the descriptions of all the starting locations to ensure this is indeed the ideal choice for my character.
[Ding! [Racial Start] Selected transporting to the best location to start.]
