Volume 1 Chapter 14: Trouble

???: "Ahh, hello. It hurts me to be ignored, you know, and I'm envious of how close you guys are."

When Carmilla and Clone 1 heard a third voice, both of them started to look around, only to see that the white magic circle had already vanished and the figure was watching them and was listening to them talk to each other.

???: "Uhmm, hi!"

When Carmilla and Clone 1 heard and saw that the figure was waving at them, both of them looked at each other. However, the figure noticed that both Carmilla and Clone 1 were surprised to see her.

Like they weren't expecting to see or hear her.

???: "Did you guys forget about me?

When Carmilla and Clone 1 heard what the figure said, both of them looked at each other and started blushing. They realized that they had forgotten that Carmilla summoned a second clone. They began to talk to each other, ignoring the figure that came out of the white magic circle. Eventually, the magic circle vanished, and the figure had been watching them talk to each other for a while now.

Carmilla: "Of course not. Why would we forget about you?"

Clone 1: "Yes, yes, we did not forget about you. And why would we forget about you?"

???: "But why do I feel like you two really forgot about me?"

Carmilla: "No, no, right Clone 1?"

When Carmilla passed the question to Clone 1, she started to look at Carmilla and then at the same figure as them. This happened a few times before she responded.

Clone 1: "Of course, we remember you. It's just that we were talking to each other."

Carmilla: "Yes, yes."

???: "Fine, I believe you two."

Carmilla: "If I may ask, how long have you been listening to our conversation?"

???: "Um, let me think, Master... It's been since you were in deep thought."

Carmilla: "Oh, it means that your situation is the same as Clone 1's. There is a delay when you got summon and when you wake up."

???: "Master, let's not think about why there is a delay when we get summoned. There are much more interesting things to think about than this matter."

Carmilla: "Mind telling me what's more important than thinking about this matter?"

???: "Master, I think you are forgetting something important?"

I started to think if I forgot something important, like she said, but except for not remembering about summoning her, I think I didn't forget anything else important.

???: "Master, you clearly forgot to give me a name, and this is clearly very important for me."

Carmilla: "Ahh, a name, sorry, I forgot, hehehe."

???: "Master, no need to be embarrassed. Just give me a name already, Master."

Carmilla: "A name, yes, yes, a name."

Carmilla started to think, but like the time when she named Clone 1, she couldn't think of a suitable name. Like every time she started thinking about naming something, she would start to think of what she was naming and adding a number to it if she didn't have it. For example, when she named Clone 1, and since it was her second clone, the first thing that popped up in her mind was the name "Clone 2," and that stuck in her mind, even though she knew it was an unpleasant name. So, without any other choice, Carmilla made a decision.

Carmilla: "I have decided to temporarily name you Clone 2."

When Clone 1 heard how Carmilla named the other figure, it was like she was expecting it to happen, just like how she got named.

Clone 1: "Haah... I knew it."

Carmilla heard her sigh but chose to ignore it.

Clone 2: "Master, can you please change my name?"

When I heard the tone of disappointment in Clone 1's voice and the pleading tone in Clone 2's voice, it made me feel more and more guilty about giving them those terrible-sounding names.

Carmilla: "Forgive me for giving you guys terrible names."

Clone 2: "So, Master, can you change my name now?"

Carmilla: "No, if I try to give you guys other names, it will be a mess since I'm sure I will end up giving you even more terrible-sounding names. So, wait for me to ask someone to provide a list of names, and then you can pick your own name."

Clone 2: "Ok, Master. I will wait for the list."

Carmilla: "Let's go back. By the way Clone 1, tell Clone 2 our current situation."

Clone 2: "Are we in some kind of trouble?"

Clone 1: "No, let me tell you."

Both Clone 1 and Clone 2 started talking, mainly Clone 1, and Clone 2 was listening. Sometimes Clone 2 would ask some questions, but Clone 1 would answer immediately.

While my two clones were talking to each other, I started to think about what we would do next.

Carmilla: "Hey guys, come on, you can both talk while we are walking."

Clone 1: "Okay!"

Clone 2: "Yes!"

We started walking back, but suddenly a warning sign kept flashing in the corner of my eye.

I ignored the flashing warning sign since after the last pop-up, I didn't do anything that would make the warning sign keep flashing. As I thought, the warning sign stopped flashing, but after only a few minutes, it started flashing again.

When Clone 1 noticed that Carmilla was distracted, she couldn't help but remind her.

Clone 1: "Master, we're back at the opening. Should we continue to explore?"

After hearing what Clone 1 said, Clone 2 started to raise her hand, trying to catch Carmilla's attention.

Clone 2: "Master, Master, can you let me pick the entrance?"

Carmilla: "No."

Clone 2: "Master's, your a cheap cake."

Carmilla: "I'm not talking to you, I'm talking to Clone 1."

Clone 1: "Master, I thought that you wanted to explore all of the entrances one by one."

Carmilla: "Let's do that later."

Clone 1: "Okay, Master."

Carmilla: "Clone 1, do you know what time it is now?"

Clone 1: "No, Master. When I got summoned, we were inside the cave, so I did not see the position of the sun."

Carmilla: "Is that so? Since you don't know, do you know how much time has passed since I summoned you?"

Clone 1: "Master, if I'm correct, after you summoned me, 3 hours and 30 minutes have passed."

Carmilla: "Are you sure?"

Clone 1: "Yes, Master."

Carmilla: "Okay, let's go see if it's already time for the sunset."

Clone 1: "Master, why are you asking for the time?"

Carmilla: "I have a very bad feeling, and it's about the time. So come on, let's go."

Clone 1: "Master, we still need..."

Clone 1 was about to say something but was stopped by Carmilla.

Carmilla: "Less talking and more walking."
