Volume 2 Chapter 38: Target Shooting

Volume 2 Chapter 38: Target Shooting

Carmilla: "What happened then, what did he do?"

Vespera: "So, that Druid mage devised a spell that allowed the user to summon a monster, animal, or beast with which the user had an affinity. This spell birthed a summoning branch in the mage profession, and after several centuries of refinement, it evolved into its own distinct profession, branching off into different specialized areas. That's the brief history lesson; now, let's continue with the game."

Carmilla, Eve, and Pepper were thoroughly engaged in Vespera's history lesson, but when she concluded, she reminded them about the game they were about to play, which involved using a target to decide who would choose the layout of their battlefield.

Carmilla: "What kind of game are we gonna play? and what is the rules of it?"

Vespera: "I'm glad that you have ask we will be playing a target shooting game but instead of physical objects such as arrows and other throwable weapons, but instead we will be using different kind of spell, and the process of the game we will first pick a appropriate distance where we stand on and after a round have pass we will be doubling that distance"

Carmilla: "What about the scoring system of the game?"

Vespera: "As you can see our target have 3 different rings and a bullseye, the first outer ring will be worth 25 points, then the next ring will be worth 50 points, the last ring is worth 75 points, and lastly the bullseye is worth 100 points, we will gonna play 3 rounds who every have the highest points at the end of the three rounds wins the game"

Pepper: "What happens if we end up having a draw?"

Vespera: "Even if it's unlikely that we will end up having a draw but just incase we will be having another round and it will be a tie breaker round but the rules of the tie breaker round will be different, we can pick the distance where we gonna shoot but of course it is only limited to the distance we shot at the first three rounds, but there will be a score multiplier on where you decide to shoot at the nearest spot to the target will get a two times multiplier, the next line will have a three times multiplier, and the last line and the most further away from the target will have a four times multiplier, the point's gain will remains the same, this will surely create a difference in our scores and it would ensure the winner, any more concerns before we start?"

Carmilla, Eve, and Pepper remained silent, upon waiting for a few seconds and not hearing the three of them say something, so Vespera assumed that they don't have any further questions to ask her.

Vespera: "If the three of you have no more further questions let's begin."

After that they then start selecting a distance to start their game, Carmilla and Vespera talks to each other and decides with a 10 meter distance away from the target but the two of them have realize that the whole room only have a length of 28 meters and a width of 15 meters so even if they first double the 10 meters it will be 20 meters and if they further double that it would be 40 meters but the whole room is only 28 meters.

Now that they have measured the length and width of the whole room Carmilla and Eve realize the battle field they have use to fight with Daniel was much more bigger than a basketball court.

Vespera suddenly shout toward Tria.

Vespera: "Your majesty can you increase the rooms length?"

Tria: "I can do that, how long should I increase the length of the room?"

Vespera: "Can you make the length of the room 100 meters?"

Tria: "Sure"

After saying that Tria snaps her fingers when the room begins to enlarge, before stopping enlarging when both of the length and width of the room reach 100 meters.

Now with a 100 meters length of the room Carmilla and Vespera decided to change the 10 meters distance to 20 meters distance away from the target and it should be relatively fine even if they double the distance it will be 40 meters and if they double it again for the last round it will be only 80 meters away from the target.

Vespera was the first one to stood in front of the target with a 20 meters distance, she then conquered a blood arrow before letting it fly straight towards the targets bullseye.

While Vespera's was casting her spell, Carmilla, Eve and Pepper have an internal discussion between the three of them about the sequence of there each turn.

At the end of there discussion they have decided to let Pepper first, followed by Carmilla, and lastly Eve will be the last one to shoot since they have use their connection to have a conversation, they have finish talking to each other when Vespera's spell was half way from hitting the target.

Since only half a minute have pass since they have start discussing with each other.

But if Vespera ever wanted to make the casting blood arrow finish much faster she can before even Carmilla and her two clones notice her casting a spell, but she did not do so she only did this is for the three of them to noticed that she have casted a spell.

Vespera: "That's a hundred points to me"

Vespera then steps aside and let one of her competitors to take her previous position, Pepper then conjures a bow and a arrow and position herself in front of the target before taking aim to the targets bullseye and *Swoosh*.

Since 20 meters is not that far, she easily hits the bullseye, seeing this Pepper look at Vespera before saying.

Pepper: "That's a 100 points to us too"

Vespera: "Not bad, not bad, let's then proceed to the second line"

After that four of them then move aways from the target with another 20 meters away totaling their distance of 40 meters away from the target.

Vespera then takes position in front of the target before casting a spell, before long a light blue magic circle manifest in front of Vespera, a short moment later a sharp tip came out of the magic circle.

Along with its appearance a cracking sound start to be heard though out the whole room.

Carmilla already have a guess on what kind of element Vespera have use base on it's magic circle's color and now with the sounds it make that is awfully similar toward an anime Vanessa made her watch.

Vanessa then said that it is one of the big 3 which she have no idea what was Vanessa even talking about, back then she was thinking to herself' 'What in earth is the meaning of the big 3?, is it some kind of band', was her thoughts back then.

But she didn't voice those thoughts out since she know that the conversation they are having back then would never end so she just nods along and agrees on what was Vanessa was saying back then with a polite smile.
