worried about Bill

Steffi was very restless, changing positions several times but still unable to sleep. Just a few minutes after Bill left, she became very worried about him, always thinking about him, and suddenly missing him very much.

"Oh God, I don't know why I feel so eager to meet him. Could this be because he has shown his sincerity to me, and I should trust him? Could this be a sign that I will love him someday?" Steffi wondered while staring at the ceiling of the dimly lit room by the bedside lamp.

Drett ... drett ...

Steffi turned to look at her phone on the nightstand. She reached out to grab the ringing device and saw an incoming call from Tania, Bill's mother.

"Mrs. Tania... she doesn't usually call me," Steffi muttered, furrowing her brow, then quickly sat up and answered the call. "Hello, Mrs. Tania?"

"Steffi..." Tania said from the phone, her voice sounding like she was crying.

"Yes, is everything okay?"

"Bill..."

"Why? Hasn't he arrived home? He just left maybe about 30 minutes ago..." Steffi asked anxiously.

"Bill had an accident," Tania said, instantly making Steffi widen her eyes. "I just received information from the police... Now he's on the way to the hospital," she continued.

"An accident..." Steffi whispered, suddenly imagining Bill, who was with her just a few minutes ago.

"Now I'll go to the hospital..."

"I'll go there too," Steffi said promptly.

"We'll meet there..."

Steffi nodded her head, then the phone call was cut off. The girl took a deep breath that felt tight, and her heart began to pound. In silence, she continued to imagine the moments with Bill today, and now Bill had an accident.

"Bill..."

Steffi curled up, hugging her knees, suddenly crying as she imagined what would happen if Bill didn't survive.

"No, you have to be okay... we're going to do our pre-wedding photo tomorrow... we're going to get married!" she said through emotional tears.

Ceklek ...

Grace and Criss entered the room, approaching Steffi who was crying.

"Mom... Bill had an accident," Steffi said, welcoming her mother with tears.

Grace immediately hugged Steffi, silent with sad and anxious feelings. She looked at her husband, who was sitting on the edge of the bed.

"I heard the news. .. Mrs. Tania called," she said.

Steffi continued to cry in Grace's embrace. "We were going to do the pre-wedding photo tomorrow. We just reconciled after I was influenced by Liam... I don't want anything bad to happen to him. We still need a lot of time in this life to be together!"

"Calm down, Sweetie. You have to believe that he will be okay," Grace said, stroking Steffi's hair.

"We should go to the hospital now. Dad has asked Steve to prepare the car," Criss said.

Steffi released her mother's embrace, then wiped her tears away. She immediately got up from the bed, ready to go to the hospital.

After changing into a white-yellow hoodie set and carrying a small shoulder bag, Steffi got into the car with her parents and her brother, who would be driving. They immediately headed to the hospital.

"Before he left, I had a bad feeling," muttered Steffi, looking out the window at the wet scenery due to the rain. "I asked him to stay overnight, but he insisted on going home... and now this is happening... If only I could have held him back, maybe he would be okay now!" she continued, blaming herself.

"Don't blame yourself,... we never know when a calamity will strike," pleaded Grace, who was sitting next to Steffi.

"Maybe he was sleepy," Criss, who was sitting next to Steve.

"No, Dad... he wasn't sleepy at all," replied Steffi confidently. "I saw him, he was still fresh, and he even planned to finish his work, which means he wasn't sleepy at all," she continued.

"But this is a single-car accident... there must have been something that caused him to lose control," said Steve, slowing down his car as he saw the tow truck carrying Bill's car, which was dented at the front.

Steffi fell silent, even more, worried about Bill.

Steve saw a slightly leaning poster pole that was damaged. He stopped because the car in front of him had also stopped, and the area was still crowded with police and fire brigade teams.

"It looks like he hit that pole, and it's near the traffic light," he said.

"I think he couldn't stop at the red light, then he panicked and swerved, and finally, he hit that pole," Criss replied, speculating on how Bill could have had the accident.

"I'll get out for a bit. I want to talk to the police," Steve said, intending to unfasten his seatbelt, but Criss stopped him.

"Don't. It's better if we just head to the hospital. The police can't give any information now because they are surely conducting an investigation," Steve said, looking ahead to where the yellow light was starting to turn on. "Let's go. We can find out about the cause of the accident later," he continued.

Steve drove his car slowly, and Steffi fell silent, wondering why Bill could have lost control of his car near the traffic light when everyone would slow down approaching it.

"Maybe the brakes malfunctioned? Or maybe he was daydreaming and didn't realize he was near the traffic light and panicked?" she asked.

"We can't speculate... now let's pray for the best for him," Grace said, not wanting to think of anything else other than Bill's safety.

"He must be okay... we're getting married," Steffi replied, becoming sad again.

Steve remained silent, focused on driving, and he sped up his car even more.

It took them only about 20 minutes, and they finally arrived at the hospital where Bill was receiving help.

Steffi quickly got out of the car and hurriedly walked with her mother to the emergency room, while her father and brother walked behind them. The girl was so impatient to know her fiancé's condition that she ran until she saw her future mother-in-law sitting in the waiting room.

"Mrs. Tania..."

"Steffi...."

Tania immediately stood up and welcomed Steffi with a hug. The middle-aged woman, who looked young in her light brown suit, cried, worried about her son and feeling sad because this tragedy happened when he was about to marry his fiancée.

"Do you know how he is doing?" Steffi asked, releasing herself from the hug.

"Not yet. I just arrived, and I haven't seen him," Tania replied sadly.

Steffi took a deep breath and sat down on a chair. For some reason, she felt very weak and was extremely curious about Bill's condition as he received treatment in the emergency room.

Grace sat next to Tania, while the men discussed the accident.

"Before, I wanted him to rest at home, but he insisted on seeing Steffi... He felt guilty for leaving Steffi at the airport," Tania muttered with a blank stare, as all that was on her mind was Bill.

"This is all my fault. I expressed my feelings to him when he had just arrived... even though he was trying to come back earlier so we could meet as soon as possible," Steffi replied with uncontrollable tears, haunted by a sense of guilt. "I should have contacted him and apologized instead of just waiting for him to meet me. I was the wrong one... I'm so sorry," she continued.

"We can't blame ourselves... the most important thing now is to pray for his safety," Grace interjected.

Steffi and Tania remained silent, occasionally glancing at the closed door of the emergency room.
