Chapter 108 – Real Friends

Ken couldn't stop himself from saving Jane when he heard the latter show faith in him. He felt like he was acting the same as Sol, becoming what he hated, which prompted him to act and help her.

'I've made a mistake; I should've let her die. I should let them both die to remain safe from their possible betrayal in the future.'

Ken ran beside Jane, lost in grim thoughts. Though he could have easily outrun her, a small part of him hoped Diana would die before he reached her, freeing him from the burden of responsibility.

The sincerity the girls had shown him gnawed at his conscience, flooding him with guilt for even thinking such a thing.

His life was lonely ever since he was forcibly taken away by Krone and Norman, and he only noticed the accumulating stress from scheming and hiding for a living when he relaxed around Diana and Jane.
