5. School Bumps

Monday morning starts like any other morning I have experienced before; get ready for a NEW school with NEW -sort of- friends and NEW frightening teachers with blank expressions and frightening, demanding voices eating you alive,

Oh yeah, the sweet life of being a teenager, right? Right, "Evelyn," "What moron," "Hurry you turtle ass, we're going to be late,"

I roll my eyes at him; I peek at my long wall mirror, "Yeah…" Skinny jeans with a vintage t and sneakers, lose wild hair, yeah, I'm ready for this… "Bring it on,"

My door burst open almost popping the skin off me, "Whom are you talking to Lil Dove? We're late as it is," I slap his arm, "Would you just calm down, Rico? We're fine,"

"Did they get bigger?" He flexes his biceps childishly, "Yeah, they did," I block the sight with my hands, "Please, put them away," "Oh, come on, are they that bad?"

"No, I'm just kidding, Kryp, they are… um… lovely," He follows me out the door, "I get, it's not your thing," "What does that even mean? I'm your sister, you're a dumbass,"

"EW, what... are you serious now?" "Oh, whatever, Rico,"

"I'll see you later Lil Dove, I'm going the other way," I reach out to air and look upward at an empty spot, wow, okay, way to leave me stranded.

I battle through the hallway searching on the paper where to go, with students everywhere, most of them laugh about random stuff and most of them gross me out.

"Ouch, wha-what…" "Damn it, sorry, I didn't see you there," I peer at the husky voice, familiar voice… oh; you've got to be kidding me?

"Ely, what a surprise," He grabs my middle and lifts me to my feet; whoa… he doesn't even put the effort in, "Chann? You go to this school too?"

I remember Chann used to go to my school, but then they moved. I guess they moved back for--most probably reasons. I-I don't know.

He chuckles, "Yeah, started last year, my Nana moved this side," "T-thanks by the way," His minor smile still brings the dent in his left cheek… aw, I'm starting to love this site… wait, what?

I stumble forward and slam against his hard chest, are you kidding me? What happened there? I glance at his sharp jaw once again forming a minor dent as he perfectly grins.

I'm melting… I quickly pull away from him, "S-sorry," "You're always this clumsy?" "Y-yes, it's one of my qualities," He laughs whilst I scan for my scattered books, damn, what a mess…

"Let me help you," Light-headed attacks me instantly as we both bend down, "Ouch, what the heck, Andres?" What's with him? He grips my biceps to keep me steady, "Whoa there, I'm sorry, I don't know what's going on with me, and I'm not usually like this."

Yeah, no shit. He helps me upward and pushes the books in my hands, "T-thanks," I push them into my messy bag, "Do you need help, going to class, Ely?"

I take my stand smiling at him, "Sure, p-please, that would be amazing…" He tugs me closer; and starts rubbing my hair, his warmth is… amazing! "Okay, okay, I will help you, no need to cry Lil rose,"

Aw… I chuckle into his chest.

"Good morning Sir, the new student," We walk inside, and I instantly ignore the burning eyes, and the whispering, "Well, thank you, Chann,"

Something about the way he said it, almost like it happened before… "Well, Evelyn, you can take a seat next to, Chann for now, I'll figure something out tomorrow,"

He pushes me forward softly on my back, I join his seating, and the first pair of eyes I spot is a brown-haired girl, death balling me, jeez, o-okay.

"What's wrong Ely?" I shake, shifting the bag into the corner, "Nothing, I'm fine," He nods, glaring at me uncomfortably; "I wanted to ask you, any extra activities?"

I glance at his greens observing me, "O-oh, um… art and dancing," He nods, smiling perfectly, "I have those too, well, I use to dance at my old school, but not anymore… if you ever need training or help, I can provide that,"

I chuckle softly at him, "What," "I don't need help in either of those two, thanks," He looks in front of him, and I glance shyly at him, observing him secretly.

A little, big nose, with thin lips pulling into a straight line each time he thinks, green eyes observing everything… charming pushed-up cheekbones with his perfect dent poking the air each time he smiles…

He's so perfect… wait, what's wrong with me? I need help! He turns to my view, and I quickly look down at my nails, "Miss. Ame, I have a few papers for you to learn what we have done so far; you will write our exams in two weeks,"

He wanders toward our table and places the papers on my desk, "Thank you, Sir," "I'm sure you have done this work at your previous school. But if you ever need help, you can just see me, or ask one of the students, I'm sure one of them will tutor you,"

"Thank you, professor Allen," He nods fairly toward me, I'm sure he had seen my report of my previous school, straight-A student, I don't need help… but maybe, this will be my chance to get to know Chann… no, what am I thinking?

"Your little head is going to explode Ely, you need to calm down with those thoughts," I chuckle toward him, "No, I'm s-sure I'll be okay," He laughs gawking at me uncomfortably, I don't like staring, it freaks me out… freaks me out, yeah, it does.

"Ely… I-I…" I look at him shuttering, it's odd to see him shutter, "Y-yes," He shakes, focusing on the board, "What… what's wrong? Was it something I said?"

His minor smile gives his eyes away, I know what he's thinking, I can see it, and I've seen that look when my brother looks at other girls.

"No, I was just thinking… something," O-okay weirdo.

I slowly walk into dance class panting, this school is big, I almost lost myself back there; I throw my bag next to the others and unplug my earphones.

I throw them both in my bag and turn to a studio full of ballet dancers giggling and stretching, I relax my muscles doing a forward bend on the ground.

"Hi there, you must be the new student, right?" I peek at the brown-haired perfect girl grinning toward me, oh, I remember her, the one that death ball me in class, how can I forget her?

"Yeah, that's me," "Well, I'm sheldy, I know this is none of my business, but I saw you talking earlier too, Chann?" Her honeyed voice rings in my ears, I don't like her, and I don't think I ever will.

"Yeah, w-what about him," Her thin lips pull in a straight line, "Are you guys like… you know… together?" I take my stand, taken back, what's her problem?

"N-no… he's my brother's best friend, we're just friends," She giggles in relief… oh, heck no, I hope this isn't what I think this is…

"Oh, good, good, I was just asking… so, you won't mind if I take a turn? I like, Chann a lot," Are you JOKING me? What a bitch… take a turn? As in, he's been together with every girl and here I am, thinking he's innocent? Of course, what was I thinking?

"What do you m-mean, take a turn?" She steps closer spying the room, "Oh, you don't know yet… Chann is like the school's playboy, I've seen him with every girl, it surprises me that he's been this long single,"

Of course, of all the people in the world, I chose the high-class playboy, what am I thinking?

"Well, knock yourself out," What's the point in arguing with her? She won't back down, I don't have time for chasing after boys, I have a career path to complete, if I finish this year's dancing class with ninety present grades, I'm in the dance academy.

"You're such a sweet friend, thank you, this means a lot to me, well, I'll see you later," Don't count on it.

"All right, class, on your places," He claps his hands while counting one, two, three, I rush over to the last place and watch the other students standing by their partners.

"Evelyn, ah, welcome sweat pie, I will find a partner soon enough for you, do you think you can manage this alone? I'm sure you learned this in your previous school?"

I nod in a shiver, I don't know the routine, and how am I supposed to do this alone? "Sure, Sir," Approval joins his expression, "All right, we have a new competition coming up, Swan Dance, I will choose one lead swantress and one lead swan, I will split everyone else up in the background."

Oh, I do remember that routine, before the show could happen, we moved…

Mr. Theobold shows us to bend forward and both sides, and we follow, "One at a time, do the lift," I walk toward the end of the room, tipple on my toes in a spin, and jump forward, he claps his hands.

"Good job Evelyn," I glance upward, is that? What's he doing here? Doesn't he have another class to attend? He grins perfectly toward me; I shy my smile…

"Evelyn, a word, pleases?" I follow him toward his office, "Is something wrong, Mr. Theobold?" "No, no, I just wanted to welcome you to this dancing class, I know it's difficult moving from school to school, learning new dancing routines every time, but I hope only to teach you the best,"

"Thanks, Mr. Theobold," "You may stay after class to practice the routine; I will find you a partner once I see fit," I nod again, "Thanks,"
